LAS VEGAS — A slew of big-ticket cards added to the Panini Rewards website late last week during a routine inventory update seemed to resonate with collectors more than normal and exposed again the many benefits of the program. During last week’s regularly scheduled maintenance session, Panini America Customer Service personnel added more than 5,000 unique cards to Rewards inventory.

The additions — including a Martavis Bryant 2014 Contenders Football Super Bowl Ticket that was claimed with 50,000 Panini Rewards points — helped generate more than 800 successful claims in just 12 hours.

Last week’s inventory additions included several cards from recent products including 2014 Immaculate Football, 2014 Prizm Football, 2014 Select Football2014-15 Paramount Basketball, 2014-15 Court Kings Basketball and more. Panini America officials touched on the progress of the Panini Rewards program during the company’s annual corporate address Tuesday at the 2015 Industry Summit.

“Based on both the volume and stature of many of the cards added during our most recent inventory update, the Panini Rewards program received a lot of activity and positive feedback last week, which is great,” said Jason Howarth, Panini America’s Vice President of Marketing. “But it’s worth noting that inventory additions are implemented on an almost-daily basis — and that trend will continue.”

Since launching last summer, the Panini Rewards program has added 12,042 unique images to the image database and has completed almost 3,000 total orders, which have been fulfilled in two to three days, on average. In the coming months, company officials plan to add more than 75,000 new items to the Panini Rewards inventory, including special pieces like uncut sheets, blowup cards, unique experiences and more.

Cards added to the Panini Rewards inventory are not held out of products; they’re added to the system as they’re returned to Panini America HQ.

  1. I’ve gotten many unique cards thru the rewards site over the last 6 months. I am very pleased with what I have gotten. Of course more to choose from never hurts. Keep up the good work

  2. That’s great to hear! I sometimes struggle finding stuff then other times there is too much to choose from. This should make things much more interesting for me when I got to pick something out. Either way, this program beats a redemption anyday. I wished I could take the two redemptions I am waiting on right now and exchange them for an item on the rewards site.

  3. I was probably one of those 800, I came home from work on Friday and decided to check the site. Got 3 cards with my remaining balance, hoping they come in by the end of this week. Thanks Tracy!

  4. As someone that checks the site daily, I think its a bit unfair to say last weeks additions were “a routine inventory update.” It was hands down the biggest update you guys have done by far. However, it is a move in the right direction as it was easily the update with the most sought after cards. There are still some problems to be worked out, such as how I received two cards that were missing the autographs show in the picture, but I do like how the website is coming together. Things like more transparency in what cards are going to be added and regular daily updates will only make the site better.

  5. It was a welcome update last week, but come on guys… where where the post about, “Collectors giving up after months of limited updates to Panini Rewards site” previous to that?

  6. Public announcements would be a great idea. Unfortunately I missed one of the cards I wanted. Either it sold out, was limited, or will come back with high points needed.

  7. Two things that would be welcome additions to the site:
    – What the card is number out of, not the serial number but, /100, /1449, etc.
    – Being able to sort the items in inventory by Autographed or memorabilia only

    1. I agree with these 2 items especially the first. I collect the base Crown Royale Silhouettes which are numbered on the back so it’s hard to figure out from the pictures which ones are the base set and which ones are parallels.
Also, it would be great if there were limits or stricter limits on how many of the same indvidual card could be purchased at one time or daily. Too many cards disappear from the rewards site too quickly and then someone is selling mulipltes of the card on-line a few days later.
Finally, public announcments would be great so that I wouldn’t have to check the site multiple times a day to see when the new stuff hits.
The last update was awesome with a great assortment of cards for people at all point levels so please contitnue with those updates and thanks for starting this great Rewards Program!

  8. Are there any plans to add any other Contenders autographs from players that weren’t on the checklist? Specifically, Zach Mettenberger and CJ Mosley?

  9. sorry to ask basic questions but I am new to collecting as a hobby just 3 months for fun and pass down to my daughter. How to I earn points? will I see a card with a redemption code ? it is something that is in 1 in lets say 100 packs will have a code?

    1. Points cards are randomly inserted into products to replace specific cards that otherwise would be redemptions. You can use your points to acquire cards from the Panini Rewards system.

  10. Cards added to the Panini Rewards inventory are not held out of products; they’re added to the system as they’re returned to Panini America HQ.

This statement – makes sense for Auto’s as you are waiting for the player to sign – cards/stickers.
If true – then please explain how it applies to Non-autographed cards…. are they damaged returns… why are they being returned?
At some point Panini will have to provide more detailed info on each specific card and WHY it didnt make it to packout… Customers are NOT satisfied with this blanket statement as it shows there has to be more reason why certain cards are not in product.. on a product by product basis. FULL Disclosure.

    1. From the inital FAQ for the Rewards Site announcement. “Some reasons for this may be that they were pulled during the Quality Control process and it was too late to insert them back into the product, they are from expired redemptions or from replacements.”

  11. I grabbed two cards off of the site on Friday evening and they arrived today. Thanks for the fast turn around!!!

  12. The inventory update was great. I am a little disappointed in how many points the cards are on the site though. In many of the early football products auto hits were replaced with 150 point cards. The only cards that are 150-250 points are the very lowest end players(non parallel/variation versions) or relic cards. In all honesty with the shipping cost ($4.18 a bit high?) many could be found cheaper on the secondary market. I also saw big point cards even up to 1500 in Immaculate, which by the contents of the rest of the box seemed to replace a big hit, but a decent hit say the Tim Brown Ink Auto is 2500 points on the reward site. I know with a point based system like this not everything is going to correlate perfectly, but cards do seem to be very high on point values. Of course, there are some cards that are better deals then others which is for the collectors to figure out, but overall a lot higher then I expected. Don’t get me wrong I like the idea of a rewards site, but more as a bonus rather then replacing hits (like in Contenders football).
