TARRYTOWN, N.Y. -- Brandon Ingram, the No. 2 overall pick of the Los Angeles Lakers, effortlessly nailing a no-look, back-to-the-basket, over-his-head heave from just inside the three-point arc. Marquese Chriss of the Phoenix Suns, as requested, firing a series of perfect passes into the face of a smartphone-wielding cameraman. Buddy Hield of the New Orleans Pelicans drilling seemingly every shot he takes whether the cameras are rolling or not.

To be sure, the scenes were as entertaining and as memorable as they were seemingly endless during last Sunday’s 2016 Panini NBA Rookie Photo Shoot as 39 of the brightest young stars in the game transformed two courts inside the New York Knicks’ practice facility into their personal playground for the purposes of creating their first physical and digital NBA trading cards.

On a day when smiles were as abundant in the gym as athleticism or fashionable sneakers, the next generation of NBA stars made their way through a series of Panini America stations (action photography, simulated action photography, studio photography, social media, marketing and more) posing for the pictures and delivering the content that will drive the company’s NBA trading card business for the entire 2016-17 season and beyond.

Several of the players also delivered starring roles in the filming of Panini America’s upcoming national television commercial promoting NBA trading cards.

Ultimately, the real winners on Sunday, whether you collect Panini America’s traditional NBA trading card products or its digital trading cards in the Panini NBA Dunk app, will be fans and collectors — many of whom kept up with the action all day long in real time by following the #PaniniNBARookie, #PaniniDunk and #Instabobble hashtags on the company’s social media channels.

Sunday’s main event was surrounded by two solid days of significant signing sessions during which the 39 players in attendance inked their first Panini autographs, both physical and digital, for the company’s upcoming 2016-17 NBA releases. Again, fans following along on social media were kept up to date with a wealth of behind-the-scenes content. But just in case you missed any of the action or simply want to check it all out again, we’ve got you covered.
