Panini America has delivered a rousing week in hobby shops and on group break sites across North America with a flurry of in-demand new releases. Wednesday saw the arrival of 2017 Contenders Optic Football and 2018 Donruss Baseball. Today, the heat wave promises to continue with the highly anticipated arrival of 2017-18 Select Basketball. You got a broad introduction to the product with yesterday’s revealing Quality Control Gallery.
Panini America’s colorful, collectible, captivating Select Basketball franchise arrives for the 2017-18 season tomorrow in hobby shops across North America boasting calling-card inclusions such as a three-tiered base set, a technicolor arsenal of Prizm parallels (including the still-sublime Tie-Dyes and the all-new Zebras) and a stacked roster of autograph and memorabilia cards — including many honoring the vaunted 2017 NBA Draft Class.
The next installment of Panini America’s popular — and online-exclusive — 1st Off The Line product launches tomorrow when iCollectPanini.com opens the preorder window for the 1st Off The Line edition of 2017-18 Select Basketball. In addition to delivering three autograph or memorabilia cards and 12 Prizm parallels per box like its hobby counterpart, each 1st Off The Line box of 2017-18 Select Basketball will also include one FOTL-exclusive Neon Orange Pulsar Prizm numbered to just nine.
For the upcoming 2017-18 Select Basketball release, Panini America Product Development officials are returning the best assets of past Select Basketball releases (such as the always-popular Tie-Dye Prizms, three-tiered base set and key autograph memorabilia Rookie Cards) while also delivering a wildly striped twist that first debuted in 2017 Select Soccer (Zebra Prizms). The result, however, is a colorful creation that is distinctly Select.
The rainbow awaits. This time tomorrow, Panini America’s 2016-17 Select Basketball will have arrived in hobby shops across North America to an anxious collecting base that covets the brand as much for its vibrantly hued parallels as it does for its autographs, memorabilia cards and multi-tiered base set. Indeed, Select’s kaleidoscope of colors (the Golds, the Greens, the Reds, the Blues, the Tie-Dyes) can make for a world of enchanting possibilities.
The explosion of vibrant colors. The three-tiered base set that becomes increasingly more rare with each level. The relentless pursuit of player rainbows that only a product featuring Panini America’s Optichrome technology can provide. That’s the short list of attributes loaded into 2016-17 Select Basketball, an every-year favorite that arrives for the new season tomorrow inside hobby shops across North America.
The introduction of the popular Prizm Basketball brand more than five years ago took hoops collectors by storm and paved the way for all of the successful iterations that have come since. But the power of Prizm’s Optichrome printing technology also enabled the proud Select Basketball franchise to find firm footing on the hardwood, too. Today, it’s one of the most anticipated NBA releases every year and that promises to be the case once again this season when 2016-17 Select Basketball arrives in hobby shops across North America in mid March.
Panini America is set to deliver another rip-roaring, fast-breaking week in hobby shops and in group breaks across North America with Wednesday’s releases of 2015-16 Select Basketball and 2015 Luxe Football. As always, we’ll do our best here on The Knight’s Lance to get you ready for the impending hobby heatwave, starting today with a three-box Teaser Gallery starring 2015-16 Select Basketball.
Panini America’s Select Basketball franchise enjoyed a vibrant resurgence during the 2014-15 NBA season thanks in large part to some magnificently tie-dyed Prizms and a value-delivered box-break proposition that had most experts calling it a front-runner for Product of the Year honors. Next Wednesday, the highly anticipated follow-up — 2015-16 Select Basketball — arrives in hobby shops across North America, equipped to deliver a successful encore.
Even the most fervent loyalists of Panini America’s Optichrome technology or the Select brand in general would have been hard-pressed to predict the rocket-ship ascension enjoyed by last season’s 2014-15 Select Basketball. For any number of reasons, last year’s release took collectors by surprise and the industry by storm as one of the most successful launches of the season.
