On Saturday night during the 2012 National Sports Collectors Convention in Baltimore, Panini America will treat 50 elite collectors to an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime VIP experience. And all collectors have to do to earn an invitation is something they’re already planning on anyway: Busting Panini America product — lots of Panini America product.
But we know that so many other just-as-excited Panini America NBA collectors won’t be able to make the trip to New Jersey. So we’re bringing the 2012 NBA Draft to you — well, sort of. In honor of tonight’s festivities — and in honor of 2011-12 Limited Basketball releasing next week, we’ve come up with a contest that will award three lucky collectors with a hot-off-the-presses Limited box.
It started way back in April, almost 10 months ago, with a simple post: “Collectors’ Choice: You Make the Call for a Special Insert in 2011-12 Hoops Basketball.” It was a post spurred by Panini America NBA Brand Manager David Porter, who asked whether or not readers of “The Knight’s Lance” might be interested in selecting an insert set for the product.
Three hundred characters, including spaces. That’s not a lot of room to sum up the entire career – much less even one meaningful highlight from the career — of a professional athlete. In fact, by the time you get to the good part, you’re out of room. So how does the Panini America editorial team do it?
