Panini America Addresses Printing Error in 2011 National Treasures Football Insert

Panini America officials on Monday announced that the company will honor up to 97 error cards from the 2011 National Treasures Football Pro Bowl Letterman insert that inadvertently included a foil “Authentic Autograph” stamp on the front.

Panini America officials on Monday announced that the company will honor up to 97 error cards from the 2011 National Treasures Football Pro Bowl Letterman insert that inadvertently included a foil “Authentic Autograph” stamp on the front.
The cards were not intended to be autographed and contain no authentication copy on the back, but that’s of little consolation to collectors who could be confused by pulling one of the cards. So in an effort to make things right, Panini America officials will honor those collectors holding any of the 97 cards with a randomly selected NFL autograph.

“We go to great lengths to ensure that errors don’t occur, and we regret that this one did,” said Jason Howarth, Panini America Vice President of Marketing. “But in an effort to make this situation right, we will give a randomly selected NFL autograph to our collectors who pull these cards and contact Panini America Customer Service.”
If you’re a collector holding one of these 2011 National Treasures Football Pro Bowl Letterman cards, contact Panini America Customer Service via email at [email protected] and use “Pro Bowl Letterman” in the subject line.

    1. Well it would be nice to see them not make the mistake in the first place! Either way, it’s good they are making right on it.
Any chance we can see what the autograph cards will be? Will you get a Drew Brees auto if you’re sending in that card? Or will you get random ones that Panini “selects”?

      1. Will they actually be auto’s though? I had a missing hit from certified basketball that was supposed to have an auto in it, but I was sent a $1 jersey card. I mean, just cause it says auto on this site doesn’t mean it’s an auto since my pack was supposed to have an auto, but I only got a jersey card.
        Just be consistant is all

  1. Good on you all for making it right. It would have been just as easy to let it slip and not do anything. Glad to know honesty still exists somewhere in the consumer industry.

  2. I’ve been pretty vocal about my displeasure with panini over the last few months, but I gotta give them props on this one they really are going above and beyond for the customer and to be honest they really don’t have to. Mistakes happen in every line of work, nice to see Panini show how much they really care about the customers that buy their product. Well done guys.

  3. Nice to see they doing something for it, instead of just calling it an error and leaving it at that like the other companies would do. I’ve had my gripes as of late also, but give them a chance as they seem to be trying to turn that around (they done me right on a replacement for a yr old redemption recently). I’d say they are striving to have the best customer service in the industry, but that wouldn’t take much as the others have been terrible at best lately, so hopefully they aiming a bit higher than being best 😉 LOL
Keep up the good work Panini!!

  4. Good job on fixing it. Reminds me of the 2010-2011 Prestige error. Except this is a much higher end brand.

  5. Here is the thing – if you look at the checklist it is clear that these are not autographed. Why is everyone getting so upset that Panini is going to give you a free autograph? Oh, because an authentic Letterman isn’t good enough? Please. It was a printing error – this card was not EVER advertised as being an autograph.

  6. Mistakes can happen in any business, good on Panini for going beyond the call of duty and yet again giving back to collectors when it could have just been written off as a linsane mistake. It is what sets PA apart from other companies in the marketplace!

  7. I had a chance to get the Larry Fitzgerald card Yesterday in a trade but i didn’t trust the fact of sending the card to get it Autographed. Ive been waiting on a Certified redemption card for a few months and i cant even get a email response from them. Redemption card are the worst card you can ever get in a pack. i no people that still havent received what they were intitled to get years ago. so i wouldnt trust sending any of the big companies my card.

      1. Tracey, any updates on emails being sent to this email address? I received an auto reply saying they no longer used that email. Can you check to make sure an email from Jeff Smith was received on my Drew Bree’s letterman was received and being worked on?
        Thanks!
        Jeff Smith
