Panini America at the NFL Draft: 2013 Score Rookie Cards in Real Time (Day 2 Gallery)
NEW YORK — During Thursday night’s first round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the collector-coveted skill positions took a back seat to the big boys up front, with offensive or defensive linemen being taken with each of the first six picks. Eric Fisher, Luke Joeckel, Dion Jordan, Lane Johnson, Ziggy Ansah, Barkevious Mingo, Jonathan Cooper. The St. Louis Rams finally selected West Virginia receiver Tavon Austin with the seventh pick, at long last popping the cork on a bona fide collecting target.
The first round picked up considerably in the back half, though, with quarterback EJ Manuel going 16th to the Buffalo Bills, tight end Tyler Eifert going 21st to the Cincinnati Bengals, receiver DeAndre Hopkins going 27th to the Houston Texans and receiver Cordarrelle Patterson going 29th to the Minnesota Vikings.
Panini America was there all night long, documenting the NFL Draft like only it can: By producing real-time 2013 Score Rookie Card reveals for 24 of the 32 first-round picks. The good news with so many non-skill-position stars going in the first round, though, is that today’s second and third rounds should be brimming with running backs, receivers and more receivers. The better news? Panini America is on location inside Radio City Music Hall once again to provide more must-see 2013 Score Rookie Card reveals in real time.
