Inspired by resoundingly successful nationwide wrapper-redemption programs such as Black Friday and Father’s Day (and on the heels of a blazing third installment of Black Friday), Panini America officials confirmed on Monday what many collectors north of the border have been buzzing about for weeks: Panini America is delivering a Boxing Day wrapper-redemption promotion to Canada.

The puck drops on the promotion at the end of this month and will be exclusive to Canadian hobby shops that are members of the Panini Roundtable. The highlight of Panini America’s 2013 Boxing Day initiative will be a promotion-exclusive 40-card card set that includes 20 base cards, 15 Rookie Cards and five Memorabilia Rookie Cards. In addition, the set will feature several unique autograph and memorabilia inserts.

Today, we begin peering behind the Boxing Day curtain to give you an idea of everything the promotion has to offer. In the gallery that follows, we detail the Absolute-inspired base and Rookie Cards. In the coming days, we’ll be showing off so much more right here on The Knight’s Lance.

So enjoy this first look at Panini America’s 2013 Boxing Day set and stay tuned for additional details and sneak peeks.

  1. Sweet, great looking cards… since this is a promotion set like Black Friday and Father’s Day, can we expect progression plates and cracked ice/lava flow parallels? Or is this more of a promo set for an upcoming full release of Absolute Hockey?

  2. Finaly something Hockey. That Sedin car looks funny. Could see the diffrence so you put them both on the same card. One of the few standing cards with them both. Maybe a team Pinnacle card in this set?
