Panini America 2012 Crown Royale Two-Pack (1)

Now this is what I call a happy new year: I arrived at Panini America HQ this morning following a few days off to a heaping helping of hobby bliss that included several new releases, Quality Control results and general new-product nirvana that I can’t wait to share.

To kick start 2013 on the right foot, I grabbed two random boxes of the finally-out-today 2012 Crown Royale Football for the following preview break in an effort to give you an idea of what to expect from the colorful and improved, hit-filled juggernaut.

I’m not going to lie: I was blown away by what I discovered in these particular boxes. Here’s hoping you have the same sensation when you open yours. We’ll have plenty more to preview in the coming days, including QC galleries for 2012-13 Timeless Treasures Basketball and 2012 Limited Football. But for now, here’s the pack-by-pack breakdown of our two 2012 Crown Royale Football boxes . . .

  1. Wow! This stuff is absolutely stunning. I mean, I even love the box. My favorite card in this 2 box break has to be that Larry Fitzgerald relic. Incredible card with a sick patch. It’s evident that a lot of hard work has gone into this set. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a set where I’ve fallen in love with every card design but I think this product will change that. Keep up the amazing work!

  2. Weird, I’ve already bought two packs (and pulled two swatches!). I must say, you won’t be stuck with only base cards. Highest percent of inserts of any packs I can remember 🙂

  3. Rookie Silhouettes just make me drool. And I am sure you were stoked to have found Mr.Osweiler in your box 🙂 He does have a pretty unique auto.

  4. Eveey time I think the bar has been set and will never be topped the very next product tops & raises the bar!!!! Well done! I can’t wait to get my hands on a box of these!

  5. All kinds of goodness right there. I always look forward to Crown Royale football. The diecuts are the best and true to the original look and feel of this product. Always a consistent product. Nice work… again!

  6. Very nice, too bad the retail version isn’t die-cut. That was a big disappointment when I bought a blaster last week.

  7. Love the Lee Roy Selmon patch auto. Had some of the best ribs of my life supplied by his restaurant a few years back!!

That Green Nick Foles looks great too.

Can’t wait to get a box!

  8. That Brock is sweet, shame he’s stuck behind Peyton for the rest of his rookie contract, but a nice luxury for the Broncos.

  9. In both Hockey and Football I think Crown Royale is my favorite. Great looking cards with lots of bang for your buck. Good work Panini, as always.

  10. can’t decide in which order, but I really like:

the color variations on this year’s base cards
the rookie autos, but not as much as last yr’s
    that kirk cousins auto

  11. The Larry Fitzgerald card looks incredible! Nice looking cards for sure. Look forward to seeing the QC pictures!

  12. Very strong return for CR, looks like some stellar hits in these boxes. Any word on the numbering of the base parallels? Thanks as always Tracy!

  13. That Larry Fiztgerald patch is a must-have:) Great work Panini for creating an oustanding product. No crown royale unwrapped?

  14. I think the silhouettes were better the last couple years. The players weren’t cut off, and the patches were essentially tamper proof, not so much this year. Also, I think it’s a little too late to still have Terrance Ganaway in a Jets uniform on cards. It’s been four months since he was with them, and I would think new pictures were available at the time of printing.

  15. simply put ….. Crown continues to amaze us, still our favorite Panini product and we can’t wait to see them up here in the “Great White North” 🙂 absolutely love the Selmon !!! 🙂

  16. Tracy is there a checklist to the Crown Royale Triangle cards? I want to start the chase, but didnt see it in the checklist pull down?

      1. Thanks. The reason I noticed it at first was that it was a bit dinged, and I thought-great (sarcastically) that they couldn’t even get the die cutting right. Turned out OK since it is scarce. /3 as some people are claiming?

  17. Tracy. I pulled a Wes Welker Purple Die-Cut that wasn’t cut and not numbered! Is there info regarding this card or is this an error card?

  18. love the amount of inserts and I love the diecut jersey/patch cards in CR..loved it since it was brough back…
