Panini America’s popular Prizm Basketball franchise has blazed an undeniable trail into the hearts of collectors during its first three years of existence, parlaying the popular, powerful Prizm parallel into one of the hobby’s true legacy chase elements. But as company officials prepare 2015-16 Prizm Basketball for an early December release, they’re introducing a new twist for the fourth annual installment.
For the first time ever, Prizm Basketball will deliver on-card rookie autographs including rare Hyper Prizm parallel versions numbered to just 10. 2015-16 Prizm Basketball also features a sizable 400-card base set and a colorful new array of Prizm parallels. “…parlaying the popular, powerful Prizm parallel…” **applause**
We will be waiting for this to come our way so we could open them and get the excitements out of it!!!
Prizm is one of my fav products but last years look way better, the solid color and photo backgrounds take away the amount of chrome there is. This is a step back for the product I think. Visually anyway.
Design is great. 400 card checklist is even better. Well done Panini, I think I will be getting a hobby box for the first time in Prizm history. As someone who collects the entire NBA, every player, every team, I’ve been very disappointed with sets that ignore 125 players at best. I have not been afraid of saying so and it’s so nice to hear Panini has listened. Having a nice design is just proverbial icing on the cake!
That purple parallel really pops! Nice preview, thanks Tracy!
daaaaaaaaaaaamn. excited to collect D’Angelo!
how many parallels on this years prizm btw.
Why do some base cards have action in the background while others have black backgrounds?
Hezonja autos yay!
On card autos = Great!
Expanded set = Alright… hopefully we get some extended team sets
More than 40 Rookies = are there that many rookies that are going to play this year?
Every year I want to love Prizm. I buy it, but it is boring. Boring design, boring inserts. Take the shiny chrome (or Panini equivalent) away and Hoops is a more exciting set. Maybe there’s too many sets, so if you can keep this one and it’s “legacy” (I would debate that) as is, it’s one less that you have to tinker with.
Just one basketball collector who seems to be buying less & less…
I ,Think the new prizm design is absolutely horrible don’t like the way the Font style or the size of it.And what’s up with the different angles in the background .Too much going on just keep it simple.maybe try incorporating a little of the 96/97 fleer metal with the standard cards now that would be a cool looking prizm.
On card autographs are great. But the 400 card set means you will only get 1 or 2 cards of the top rookies and stars in one 12 box hobby case. Do the math. That is troubling
