Panini America Delivers Detailed First Look at 2015-16 Spectra Basketball (Gallery)

In terms of new product releases, Panini America's Optichrome-enhanced Spectra franchise didn't take long at all to resonate with even the most discriminating collectors. It launched near the end of the 2013 NFL trading card season and, based on early feedback, was almost immediately added to the company's NBA roster for the 2013-14 season.

In terms of new product releases, Panini America’s Optichrome-enhanced Spectra franchise didn’t take long at all to resonate with even the most discriminating collectors. It launched near the end of the 2013 NFL trading card season and, based on early feedback, was almost immediately added to the company’s NBA roster for the 2013-14 season.

In the two years since, Spectra Basketball has consistently delivered some of the most aesthetically striking autograph and memorabilia cards on the market, using an intoxicating combination of vibrant Prizm colors and must-touch memorabilia pieces. For 2015-16 Spectra Basketball, look for that trend to continue.

Set to arrive in hobby shops across North America in early June, 2015-16 Spectra Basketball will deliver seven autograph or memorabilia cards in every 10-card box. Every autograph card in the set will also include a piece of memorabilia and the new City Limits insert will provide a riveting one-per-case chase.

Highlight of this year’s release are many and include . . .

  • Every autograph in 2015-16 Spectra Basketball is loaded with a piece of memorabilia that is numbered from 149 all the way down to one.
  • Look for massive memorabilia swatches of both veterans and rookies in the Materials Prizms and Rookie Jumbo Jersey sets numbered to 49.
  • Find on-card autographs of the top rookies and veterans from the 2015-16 season as well as on-card autographs from some of the game’s greatest legends.
  • The new City Limits insert falls roughly once per case.
