The Red Prizms are coming! The Red Prizms are coming!

With all due respect to Paul Revere, there’s a new parallel arriving in 2012 Prizm Football next month that deserves to be trumpeted by any means possible — whether your mounted on horseback, using a megaphone, Tweeting, blogging, Facebooking, Skyping or simply having meaningful discussions in your hobby shop. It’s the hobby-only Red Prizm Die-Cut that will fall roughly one per box when 2012 Prizm Football releases in early February.

So far in our continuing preview of this highly anticipated new product, we’ve shown you uncut sheets of the base Prizms, Gold Prizms and the Green Prizms. But no one has seen the resplendent Red Prizms . . . until right now. While the following gallery of images taken from one uncut sheet doesn’t detail the die-cutting that will take place on these beauties, it does shed captivating light on the deep, dimensional etching on these cards and the way the cards seem to cast a brilliant glow.

But don’t simply take my word for it. Take a look for yourself now (and after you’re done, let us know which of the Prizms you’ve seen so far are your favorite). Of course, you may want to reserve your final judgment until after you’ve seen the nasty Finite Black Prizm 1/1s, which we’ll showcase right here on The Knight’s Lance in the coming days.

Until then, these images should have you seeing red . . . and that’s a good thing.

  1. Two questions: Are these Hobby and/or Retail? And Are these numbered to anything? I’m sure the Basketball collectors are wondering, “Why didn’t we get these?!” or did they and I’m just missing it. haha. Thanks Panini!

  2. I LOVE these red Prizms! Really goes well with Chiefs red jerseys but also creates a nice contrast with some of the other colors like the Colts blue jerseys, which I particularly enjoy of course. I will definitely be on the prowl for some of these, thanks Tracy!

  3. These parallels look great and I think the key is low numbering. Topps gets BORING with a zillion parallels numbered 399, 299, 199, 99, 50, 25, 10, 5, 1, etc. Too much. By the way…Panini America hiring in the new year?

  4. Wow looks really nice with red! That rookie etching on it will be welcome with open arms! Keith Hower please put the rookie etching on the die cuts reds and Unparalled Future black! Thanks Tracy for clarifying that basketball may have a shot on red! Whew. Football collectors have a treat on their Prizm box with only one per! It will be sought after! Our favorites would be green, red, Gold, then as you said black! I have to say all! Its a sure product of the year for basketball even more so for football with the additional incentive of having that super cool die cut red!
    As always its Prizmtacular preview!

  5. Ill wait to make my final judgment comment when i see those black parallels those are probably insanely sick! The 1/1’s would of made a nice addition to basketball maybe next year!
    —Peace out.

  6. I have to say GOLD, then red, then green. Of course, 1/1 black prizms would steal the show hands-down. Very much looking forward to this product in a few weeks.

I’m assuming that green will be retail again??

      1. Thanks. From reading comments, I must be the only person that doesn’t like the word rookie on the bottom. They still look great overall though. Can’t wait to get some. I wish I didn’t flush a couple hundred dollars down the toilet buying a couple boxes of that garbage Topps Chrome this year so I could buy more. Is this still on track to come out the 6th next month?

  7. Love how you guys added a ton more Prizms to football. Red, Green, Gold, and now even black. They are all stunning but I can’t wait to see the black ones. I bet those will make me fall out of my seat!

  8. I’m going to say the green ones are my favorite simply because they will be available in retail and where I live, that’s all I can get my hands on, unless I want to drive 2 hours to the nearest hobby shop. Can’t wait to hopefully get my hands on some of this stuff.

  9. So are the only prizms that are numbered are the gold ones? Can you get some feedback on how many green and red versions were made? It would be very helpful, as if I wanted to chase some. Id be going for the rarest ones. They def look awesome though, that red really pop’s big time!!

      1. Appreciate that Tracy!
Any word on a checklist? I’m doing a team break in a week or so and would love to have an idea of the older players and which autos would be available!

  10. deasign astetics alone any color would be a sweet pull…definitly be on the look out for some of these in the second market when the product drops….very sick guys !!
