Panini America’s highly anticipated 2014-15 Noir Basketball released this week with a predominantly international distribution plan, packing within its elegant black boxes two truly unique inserts with deep roots overseas. The China Jerseys and China Jerseys Patches inserts feature pieces of special jerseys worn by some of the NBA’s biggest superstars during last season’s Chinese New Year Celebration games in February and March.

Every card in both sets (China Jerseys is numbered to 99, China Jerseys Patches is numbered to 25) features an oversized piece of the special Chinese New Year game-worn jerseys on the front and the exact date the jersey was worn on the back.

To be sure, it’s a compelling and rare inclusion in the debut edition of Noir Basketball and features the likes of Stephen Curry, Andre Iguodala, James Harden and more. In the gallery that follows, we showcase some of the cards in the set simply for your viewing pleasure.

Enjoy.

  1. Panini Noir looks amazing! Since my LCS couldn’t get me a box, I was at least able to buy a spot in a Group Case Break Random with Chad at FireHandCards. I haven’t watched the break yet but I’m hoping he pulled me & my girls a big one. I really wish my LCS could have gotten me a box but at least I found a group break. Keep up the great work Panini!

  2. It was an extremely nice surprise yesterday morning when i saw on ebay that Justin Holiday was included in this product. (who become champion with my favorite Hungarian team in the 2013-14 season, and a year later he become a NBA Champion.).

(By the way, still looking 2013-14 Totally Certified Justin Holiday Gold, Green, and Black auto cards.)

  3. Those are really nice issues, i wonder how the collecting public will respond to such an intriguing, ultra high-end niche product. To be sure, such rare patches will be aggressively sought on the 2ndry market…but will they be sufficient to carry an $800 box price?

Thanks for the really novel gallery, Hackler!
