The sheer excitement and stunning pulls-of-a-lifetime that marked #FlawlessFriday yesterday have given way today to some of the craziest secondary-market sales the sports card industry has seen in many years. No matter how you look at it, Panini America’s 2012-13 Flawless Basketball — one of the most scrutinized high-end products in hobby history — is delivering huge numbers.

Earlier today, our friends over at Trading Card Blog began tracking the most staggering Flawless transactions with a running list of those cards that have commanded $1,000 or more on eBay. One card we didn’t see on their list is the one pictured above, a Kyrie Irving 1/1 that sold for the remarkable sum of $10,000 — yes, $10,000 — according to sortsof.com.

To help fan the flames of Flawless Frenzy, today The Knight’s Lance offers a quick look at nine impressive sales that attracted our attention while perusing eBay earlier today. After you check out those nine cards, stick around for a quick two-briefcase break gallery that an Atlanta Sports Cards customer was nice enough to share with us this morning.

Enjoy, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of 2012-13 Flawless Basketball.

  1. We’ve had all kinds of great stuff pulled: Kyrie Auto RC #d/25, Kyrie Auto RC #d/15, Kevin Durant Auto Patch #d/20, Bill Russell Base 1/1, Anthony Davis Auto RC, Harrison Barnes Auto RC, Jimmy Butler Auto RC, Jason Kidd Auto Patch, Hakeem Olajuwon Auto Patch (signed twice, auto was at top of card and signed on the patch), Ray Allen Heat Patch, Rondo Celtics Patch and tons more. Every box was a winner. Good job at packing them out.

Can’t wait to see the next box opened. Cards are beautiful and well worth the price.

  2. Yesterday in a group break in Australia, I pulled a Durant GU monster patch 1 of 1 !!! Best card in my life EVER.
A Kobe Bryant 1 of 1 auto was pulled in the same case!!! Amazing!!

  3. BTW Panini, why was there no mention of these boxes dubbed ‘Rivals’ boxes where there are only two teams in it?? That kills group breaks incredibly.
How many of these ‘Rivals’ boxes are there and what teams do they consist of?

    1. There are 50 sticker autos in the product — on some of Damian Lillard’s cards. The cards weren’t made when we had the signing with him and we wanted to include some autographed memorabilia cards of him in Flawless. He also has 50 on-card autos in the product as well. Those obviously were made when we conducted our signing with him.

      1. Flawless is awesome.

Thanks for that info about Lillard auto’s. Getting them was a big step for Panini NBA cards. I’d rather see 50 stickers of Lillard auto’s than 50 less Lillard auto’s, even in Flawless.

I think a lot of collectors think the next big step for Panini are LeBron auto’s. I think it’s just a matter of time before that happens. I can’t wait.

Then, MJ likeness and/or auto’s, that would be the cherry on top. Not sure how you guys are going to get that done, if it’s even possible.

Looking forward to future Panini NBA cards!
