Panini America, the world’s largest sports and entertainment collectibles company and the exclusive trading card partner of the NFL and NFL Players Inc. beginning with the 2016 season, announced today that it has signed former University of Memphis standout quarterback Paxton Lynch, a projected first-round pick in the upcoming 2016 NFL Draft, to an autograph and trading card agreement for the 2016 season.

Lynch’s first officially licensed trading cards and autographs will arrive in March inside Panini America’s 2016 Contenders Draft Picks Football collegiate product; his first NFL trading cards will be featured one month later in the company’s iconic 2016 Score Football brand to kick off Panini’s new exclusive trading card agreement with the NFL and NFLPA.

As part of the agreement, Lynch will also appear on Panini collegiate and NFL trading card packaging throughout the 2016 season and will take part in Panini marketing initiatives including its annual Panini Skills Clinic at Super Bowl 50 in San Francisco, Calif., involving more than 150 Pop Warner participants from the San Francisco Bay area.

“Paxton is one of the most exciting players in this year’s draft and, as a result, his presence in our complete roster of 2016 physical and digital NFL/NFLPA trading card products is critical,” said Mark Warsop, Panini America CEO. “We’re excited to be working with him – not just during his rookie season but for many years to come.”

During a productive career at the University of Memphis, Lynch threw for more than 8,800 yards and 59 touchdowns; he also rushed for 687 yards and 17 touchdowns. The MVP of the 2014 Miami Beach Bowl as a sophomore, Lynch tied an FBS record last season by throwing for seven touchdowns in one half against SMU.

“Some of this is unreal. I dreamed of having my own trading card as a kid – and now I have one with Panini, which is a blessing,” Lynch said.

“Panini is the exclusive trading card partner of the NFL and NFLPA, and an elite company comprised of great product and great people,” said Leigh Steinberg, who along with Chris Cabott, represents Paxton Lynch.

  1. Serious question – Since you guys have monopolized the NFL trading card industry, can / will you bring back any classic designs for products like Score? Honestly, it just looks really cheap to me. I would love to see more of what you did with Donruss throwback inserts and cards for football this season.

    1. I like the design, it is simple but colorful, the photo is a little oddly shaped which contrasts with the perfectly squared Banner Name and Team name. It is unique that the photo extends below the banner. The above card with its bright colors just stands out and hits you like Wow!
