Beginning in late November, hockey collectors will have the opportunity to appreciate some of the most gifted superstars in the NHL in bold new hues through a unique insert punctuating 2011-12 Pinnacle Hockey.

The art-inspired Canvas Creations colorfully reimagines 18 of the league’s top players — including Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, Jordan Eberle and Jerome Iginla to name four — with a brush-stroke bit of brilliance sure to provide a welcome pop to Pinnacle’s chase-card roster.

Canvas Creations cards will fall roughly six per case.

You can get your exclusive first look at the cards below in the following gallery that would be right at home in any art museum in the North America. Enjoy.

  1. These are very cool. I like the design. So someone paints these then you turn them into these sweet cards or is this a painting type look that you guys did? Either way they are very nice. I wished Pinnacle would come back to football from you guys too! Would love to see some NFL stars on canvas. Pinnacle is a great brand and from the gallery on the Knights Lance I have seen Panini has made Pinnacle even better. The hockey ones look great. These would also look great signed….are there any signed versions?

      1. Alright thanks Tracy. They really do look great. Thats the main point I was getting across. I would blow one up on and hang it on my man cave wall. I do have one unrelated comment, I see everytime that I comment on here, it switches my name from Matthew to Matt. You probably know we are the same person, but just wanted to mention it anyways.

  2. No Kopitar or Doughty, the faces of the LA Kings franchise but………..Mike Richards?

Again, Richards is a terrific all around player, but he is not THE guy in LA.

He plays 3rd or 4th fiddle now behind the 2 aforementioned and, an argument could be made, Jonathan Quick.

East Coast bias in hockey cards as well? Too bad.

  3. this cards look sweet the only one i want really is the thomas, i agree with the other person about not having either quick or kopitar in there on the kings, and for the sharks no marleau or bruins no chara? huh well still an awsome lookin set.

  4. I think these look great… glad to see the earlier version of the ovechkin card was just a mock up since that image was used on last years Chemistry on Canvas. Between this insert and the new Black insert cards… I just can’t wait for this set to come out. Here’s looking forward to a great year from Panini in 2011-12 Hockey!
