Panini America Kicks off the 2012 Industry Summit with Trent Richardson Signing

LAS VEGASPanini America kicked off the 2012 Industry Summit in earnest Sunday evening by partnering with Peach State Sports for a public signing with two-time college football national champion and 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist Trent Richardson.
The soft-spoken and engaging Richardson, projected as a top-10 pick in next month’s 2012 NFL Draft, signed one item for each registered Summit attendee and each autograph was authenticated by Panini Authentic.

Before the former University of Alabama running back signed for the public, he participated in a small private signing for Panini Authentic and Peach State Sports, during which he signed 10 special versions of a 2012 Prestige Football card that will be randomly inserted into Panini America’s Black Boxes, which will distributed later today.
The following gallery and video capture just some of the excitement from Sunday night. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for complete coverage of Panini America’s presence at the 2012 Industry Summit, including a special announcement to come later today.

Now, on to the gallery . . .

  1. The first Panini cards look as one would expect them to; neat, clean & very desirable!
As an aside… nice interview skills Hackler! You’re like the Industry’s answer to Larry King!

  2. On the spot verification thats pretty cool. Cannot wait to see what the special announcement is. Panini always pushes the boundaries in the hobby with new and exciting initiatives.

  3. Ive said it before and i’ll say it again, you guys have the BEST job in the world!!!! Man i need to open a cardshop just so i can go the Summit and hang out with you guys. My only problem is if i had a cardshop i wouldnt want to sell any of my cards. LOL Keep up the great work Panini and i cant wait to watch the ultimate case break!

  4. These logo shields are obviously not game or event worn, so why bother with them. It makes the ones that actually were, seem less important. Some things should be kept 1/1’s. Like NBA Logoman and NFL Logo Shield. Besides that and the insane amount of redemptions, which I know you guys can’t necessarily control, Panini is doing a pretty good job.
One more thing. Could you possibly keep the 4th and 5th round draft picks to a minimum at this years Rookie Premiere. I think we all had enough Bilal Powell and Jordan Todman to last us for quite some time.

    1. Brad…As a fellow cardboard crack addict, I understand and relate to the frustration of pulling players such as Powell, Mike Kafka and Jordman Todman. However, manufacturers can’t be expected to know who might emerge. Roy Helu, Mike Williams, Jacoby Ford, John “Terminator” Connor, Aaron Hernandez, Denarius Moore & Hynoski were all 4th round+ or undrafted FA’s who have made an impact upon both their teams and the hobby. The late-round, unpolished gem is the driving force behind products such as Contenders and the Bowman brands.
