After a few seasons away from the court, Panini America's iconic Donruss brand is returning to the NBA in February with a robust 2014-15 edition steeped in hobby nostalgia and equipped with sublime throwback elements that should resonate with the basketball-collecting masses.

After a few seasons away from the court, Panini America’s iconic Donruss brand is returning to the NBA in February with a robust 2014-15 edition steeped in hobby nostalgia and equipped with sublime throwback elements that should resonate with the basketball-collecting masses.

Every hobby box of 2014-15 Donruss Basketball (eight cards per pack, 24 packs per box) will deliver three autograph or memorabilia cards, 24 Metalized cards, 48 inserts and three parallels. The highlights of this triumphant return are many, and they’re detailed after the jump.

  • The fabled Donruss Rated Rookie design returns to  honor the star-studded 2014 NBA Draft class.
  • The basketball debut of classic Donruss designs such as Elite Dominators, Elite Series, Jersey Kings and more.
  • True to the Donruss tradition, 2014-15 Donruss Basketball features multiple levels of sequentially numbered inserts, including seasonal stats, career stats, jersey numbers and 1/1s.
  • Autograph or memorabilia cards fall three per box on average and include such calling-card inserts as Rated Rookies Signatures Patches, Jersey Kings and Timeless Treasures.
  • The popular Elite Status Die-Cut parallels feature sequential numbering ranging from 99 all the way down to only one.
  • Elite Dominators appear for the first time in basketball and is paralleled by an Elite Dominators Signatures versions.
  • The Timeless Treasures autograph/memorabilia insert pays tribute to the classic 1987 Donruss Baseball design.

  1. Love the nostalgic feel. That Jersey Kings card makes even a plain jersey card have that retro feel that makes you want it! I hope the decision to bring this product back pays dividends to Panini as well as the collectors! 🙂 Happy holidays!

  2. They look great! Really like the design of the Wiggins Rated Rookie. How large is the base set? I’m primarily a base set collector, and that sort of info matters to me. Please include Elton Brand. His coach apparently hates him but he’s still my all-time favorite player. It gets frustrating when he is not included in any sets, yet players who have missed two years (!) are, and players who are not even in the NBA anymore are included and he is not. Even so, I am looking very much forward to doing my own box review on my blog, Cardboard History (http://cardboardhistory.blogspot.com/).
