Panini America Offers Detailed First Look at 2014-15 Totally Certified Basketball

The Panini America Sales team sent out the preliminary solicitation information for 2014-15 Totally Certified Basketball this morning and the first sentence in the email is certainly an attention-grabber, especially the term "completely re-energized look and feel." Indeed, after a few consecutive seasons of a similar-seeming base-card design, Panini America's creative team has boldly redesigned the annual micro-etched favorite, giving the popular brand a bold new look for a new season.

The Panini America Sales team sent out the preliminary solicitation information for 2014-15 Totally Certified Basketball this morning and the first sentence in the email is certainly an attention-grabber, especially the term “completely re-energized look and feel.” Indeed, after a few consecutive seasons of a similar-seeming base-card design, Panini America’s creative team has boldly redesigned the annual micro-etched favorite, giving the popular brand a bold new look for a new season.

Totally Certified’s core collecting values, however, remain firmly intact. The base set features five colorful micro-etched variations (Mirror Reds numbered to 135, Mirror Blue Die-Cuts numbered to 74, Platinum Purple Die-Cuts numbered to 25, Mirror Gold Die-Cuts numbered to 10 and Mirror Black Die-Cut 1/1s) and the triumphant return of the chase-fueled Epix multi-memorabilia insert featuring Play (numbered to 199), Game (numbered to 149), Season (numbered to 10) and Moment (numbered to 5) versions.

Other highlights of 2014-15 Totally Certified Basketball include the acetate/memorabilia union of Clear Cloth, the on-card autographs of the venerable Rookie Roll Call insert and a 20-card short-printed subset featuring the game’s biggest superstars.

Each box of 2014-15 Totally Certified Basketball (five cards per pack, four packs per box, 15 boxes per case) will deliver one autograph, three memorabilia cards and four parallels.

  1. Thanks for the preview. Like so many basketball fans I am super excited for this seasons class of rookies. What makes this season even more exciting for me is that it’s the first year that my son, Zev (8), is really into both watching sports and collecting with me. Theses cards and crisp and clean without being boring, not an easy combo to achieve. Thanks – Shani

  2. the base card design itself is fine, but the Totally Certified / TC font & design dont look good, too blocky & in-elegant.

why doesnt totally certified have the rookies be auto-jersey, with auto-patch parallels like 09/10 & 10/11, that was the best part of that product. plain autos on the rcs are too boring.

  3. ON CARD auto’s, yay! Pulling redemptions won’t be AS painful, knowing it’s for oncard auto’s. Lookin’ good.

  4. AS you know Mr. Hackler, this is one of my favorite products year in and year out no matter the sport
