Panini America’s Crown Royale Football, one of the most uniquely designed and instantly recognizable brands in the trading card industry, returns for the 2014 season just one day before Thanksgiving, giving collectors across North America plenty of cornerstone cards for which to be thankful. Crown Royale’s calling cards — the resplendent, hard-signed Rookie Silhouettes — return for a new season with 40 new subjects representing the impressive 2014 NFL Draft class.

We provided a must-see preview of just some of the Rookie Silhouettes and Silhouettes right here on The Knight’s Lance three weeks ago. Today, we’re providing a more detailed look at 2014 Crown Royale Football as a whole.

Each hobby pack of 2014 Crown Royale Football will deliver one autograph or memorabilia card. The aforementioned Silhouettes will boast an array of variations this season, including Jumbo Silhouettes and Rookie Dual Silhouettes. Other highlights of the product include . . .

  • Rookie Silhouettes Autographs feature Gold (numbered to 49 or less), Purple (numbered to 25 or less), Green (numbered to five) and Blue (numbered to only one) versions.
  • The boldly reconfigured Rookie Signatures insert features multiple foil variations.
  • Find Single, Dual and Triple Heirs to the Throne memorabilia cards.
  • An all-new die-cut base-card design that maintains the trademark feel of Crown Royale while sporting a completely new look.

On the retail side, 2014 Crown Royale Football will deliver two autograph or memorabilia cards per four-pack box and offers retail-exclusive versions of Rookie Silhouettes, Rookie Signatures and base cards. We’ll have plenty more to preview on 2014 Crown Royale Football in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. 1. Tracy, above it states, “…Each four-pack hobby box of 2014 Crown Royale Football will deliver one autograph or memorabilia card…” .
Contrast that with “…On the retail side, 2014 Crown Royale Football will deliver two autograph or memorabilia cards per four-pack box…”

It certainly can’t be that retail delivers a bigger pay-off than Hobby, can it? Are we to gather that the Hobby product delivers an auto, mem’ or auto-mem’ PER pack, as opposed to just one of the 3 hits per hobby box, as the copy implies?

Thanks man, love the profile the silhouette cards cut. Still waiting on my Bobby Mitchell from the prior product, but I’m willing to wait if that dude is going to put ink to card. The auto’d silhouette prime patches are knock-out issues bro!

  2. Looks AWESOME! I do just want to clarify one thing: “Each four-pack hobby box of 2014 Crown Royale Football will deliver one autograph or memorabilia card.” –I’m assuming you mean 1 Auto or Mem per pack (4/hobby box), correct?

  3. Kelvin probably sign his cards hen Panini had a event about kid reporter at super bowl.
Can you update a tour dates for Panini NFL fan truck?

  4. Base card design looks sweet. Are the two Sammy Watkins autos examples of the Rookie Signatures insert? Or will rookies (and select vets) have die-cut crown autos just as they have since 2010?

    1. The Red one (2nd one pictured) is the retail version. Very happy with the fact that there’s a way to differentiate between the Hobby and Retail auto’s. Thanks Tracy & Panini!

  5. can someone give me some insight on the blue insert? Panini Choice, Knights and Squires, Master craftsman etc? any idea on print run? It is now May and I have only seen 1 of a few of these? Are they 1/1’s

  6. Thanks jameyman, I have collected about 3 of the paninis choice, 1 knights and squires (manning/Luck) 🙂 A master craftsmen, 1 kings of the court and 1 corwn jewels, None are numbered on the back but I have a feeling they are RARE, I hope they are 1 of 1’s. Just wish I had a defintive answer..
