Panini America Offers Detailed First Look at 2014 Limited Football (Preview Gallery)

It takes years of consistency to build and can be damaged irreparably with one down year, but if treated properly (with reverence and respect and an eye toward steady improvement), favorable brand equity is a marvelous asset in the trading card arena. Panini America's release roster is packed with such products. The latest example? Limited Football.

It takes years of consistency to build and can be damaged irreparably with one down year, but if treated properly (with reverence and respect and an eye toward steady improvement), favorable brand equity is a marvelous asset in the trading card arena. Panini America’s release roster is packed with such products. The latest example? Limited Football.

Through the years, the Limited brand has become known for — as its name suggests — limited quantity (every card in the set is sequentially numbered), unlimited potential and the Phenoms autograph memorabilia Rookie Cards. Those three qualities and then some will be on vivid display again this season when 2014 Limited Football releases in hobby shops across North America in early November.

With the exception of the aforementioned Phenoms (which will be numbered to 299 or less), every autograph or memorabilia card created for 2014 Limited Football will be numbered to no more than 99. Each five-card box will deliver three autograph or memorabilia cards, including two numbered to 99 or less.

Limited’s insert highlights are many and include . . .

  • The triumphant return of Game Day Materials, the game-worn memorabilia insert featuring the exact date during which the attached piece of memorabilia was worn.
  • The spectacular new Rookie Jumbo Autographs featuring an oversized piece of player-worn jersey and an autograph; also look for Prime and 1/1 Tag versions.
  • Limited Duo, Trio and Quad Autographs, including Memorabilia, Prime and 1/1 Tag Versions.
  • The Star Factor insert featuring three pieces of memorabilia and an autograph.

We’ll have plenty more to preview on 2014 Limited Football in the coming weeks right here on The Knight’s Lance. But for now, here’s an extended sneak peek at the product:

  1. i’ve never like the value with this product, i’ve seen too many box with one auto and two horribly small jersey swatches, BUT, the new look, appears awesome.

  2. Please send me everything except the Sherman. Thanks. LOL…..that Bortles/Lee/Robinson triple is ABSOLUTELY AWWWEEEESSSOOOOMMMMEEEEEE!!!! *Knock on wood* I always do pretty well with boxes of Limited, hoping for more of the same this year!

  3. I like the direction the product is moving in, the Watkins rookie is a spectacular card. If collectors can look forward to rookie cards of that calibre, Limited will take a big step forward and build off of last season’s strong showing.

  4. Just can’t wait, Limited is a thrill every year. The best patch for my own collection I’ve ever pulled was from Limited and I’ll never forget it! Thanks Tracy!

  5. I like the base card design. To me, that’s what a product must start out. It’s not always about the hits
