Panini America’s Classics Football franchise enjoyed a heroic return to the hobby last week with a blast-from-the-past 2016 edition steeped in old-school nuance and just a little bit of mystery. We gave you preliminary information on the product’s various parallels and SPs just prior to the product releasing.

In the eight days since, many collectors have wondered — both aloud on social media and no doubt to themselves while opening packs — about the relative scarcity of the product’s Red Backs, Blank Backs, No Name Fronts and other base-set parallels. Today, we’re going to offer some specifics.

Earlier this morning, I received an email from Panini America Assistant Football Brand Manager Lucas Kinser (perhaps you remember him from this Panini Unwrapped episode) detailing drop-rate and SP information on the product’s key base-set parallels. Check it out below and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage of 2016 Classics Football.

  1. I bought 2 boxes and I actually pulled 2 classic players autographs . The first was a Larry Csonka card ( Instant Classic Ink ) insert . It’s numbered to 10 . The second was a redemption card . I don’t mind having to redeem cards and then wait for a few weeks as long as it’s worth the wait . In this case , I’m waiting for a Barry Sanders autograph . Its from the Legends Significant Signatures insert set . So , to say the least , I’m happy with the 2016 classics set and am going back out to get 2 more boxes ! ?
