NEW YORK -- Long before they slipped into their best suits to rock the red carpet or stroll across the Radio City Music Hall stage and into the NFL, some of the top prospects from this week's 2013 NFL Draft first walked into the Panini America room at the 2013 NFLPA Rookie Debut.

NEW YORK — Long before they slipped into their best suits to rock the red carpet or stroll across the Radio City Music Hall stage and into the NFL, some of the top prospects from this week’s 2013 NFL Draft first walked into the Panini America room at the 2013 NFLPA Rookie Debut.

Once there, they signed some of their first autographs for upcoming Panini America trading cards, they received their vaunted Rated Rookie T-shirts, and they fielded the type of hard-hitting interview questions that only Panini America has the guts to ask.

OK, so maybe the questions weren’t that hard-hitting. But they did elicit some compelling, candid responses from the 12 future NFL stars — including the likes of Sylvester Williams, Giovani Bernard, Tyrann Mathieu, Datone Jones, A.J. Klein and more — who came through Wednesday afternoon not long after arriving in New York.

The following video provides just a little more insight into the men whose names you’ll be hearing a lot of during the next few days. And stick around after the video for a gallery that offers a sneak peek at the penmanship of this season’s top prospects.

  1. It is hard to get stoked about 6 OL being picked in the first round and the rest being mostly DL and LB’s, the collecting world likes QB’s,RB’s and WR’s!!!

  2. Thanks for the coverage Tracy, some mock drafts have Datone Jones going to the Colts so this was a nice introduction for me to (perhaps) a future player to collect. Hope you’re having a good time!

  3. Love how Panini gives us all the behind the scenes and videos. You dont just get this from anybody.

Hoping the Giants draft a more exciting player today 🙂
