TORONTO, Ontario — The Panini America hockey team spent a good chunk of Sunday night and a wee bit of Monday morning preparing the company’s signing quarters inside Toronto’s Westin Harbour Castle for the 26 young NHL superstars who will make their way through the room later this morning.

Three different groups of players (two groups of nine and one group of eight) will sign autographs for Panini America during the first day of the 2011 NHLPA Rookie Showcase, including on-card gems such as Private Signings and Pen Pals duals, trios and quads. (New Jersey Devils defenseman Adam Larsson was unable to make the trip due to travel complications caused by Hurricane Irene).

Below you’ll see a gallery of images previewing all of the action that will take place today. Tomorrow gives way to the actual photo-shoot portion of the Showcase, when all 26 players will take the ice at MasterCard Centre for action photography, studio shots and interviews.

Stay tuned later today for a recap of today’s activities — and all week long for continued coverage of the 2011 NHLPA Rookie Showcase.

      1. Really looking forward to meeting all you guys too. I may have to get myself a Tracy Hackler 1/1 auto while I’m there.

      1. Seriously, I don’t even know what I am gonna wear to work tomorrow and you have some of next year’s cards printed before this year’s even hits the streets.

  1. Tracy love it all, thanks for sharing some of next’s year’s big stuff this year.

I am especially fond of the Richards/Skinner/Landeskog card. I think that one will look great in my soon-to-be Mike Richards LA Kings collection. Look forward to the day he can be in a Stanley Cup set.

It’s good to see more people finally getting on the Panini bandwagon because I may need someone to take the wheel soon. I am getting tired of driving it! 😉

Talk to you soon brother, be well.

  2. Seriously, again, those HATS!!! I need to get my hands on one!!! What do you guys think about releasing those cards with the “sign here” on them as 1of1 rookie showcase example proof cards??? Good idea? Bad idea? I know I would love to have them!
