TORONTO, Ontario — The Panini America hockey team has been running fast and furious since Sunday night and early into Monday morning prepping for what is sure to be a fantastic first day at the NHLPA’s Rookie Showcase. Beginning in less than one hour, 26 of the NHL’s top prospects and rookies, including Colorado Avalanche No. 1 overall pick Nathan MacKinnon will enter the Panini America signing to begin affixing their signatures to stickers and cards for future Panini NHL trading card products.

Two different groups of players (two groups of 13) will sign autographs for Panini America during the first day of the 2013 NHLPA Rookie Showcase, including on-card gems such as Crown Royale Rookie Silhouettes, Dominion Rookie Autograph Patches and Pen Pals duals, trios and quads.

Below you’ll see a gallery of images previewing all of the action that will take place today. Tomorrow gives way to the actual photo-shoot portion of the Showcase, when all 26 players will take the ice at MasterCard Centre for action photography, studio shots and interviews.

Stay tuned later today for a recap of today’s activities — and all week long for continued coverage of the 2013 NHLPA Rookie Showcase. You can also follow us throughout the day on Twitter @PaniniAmerica and #PaniniDoubleRookieClass.

  1. Tracy,
I love the look of the Limited Patches for Gallagher to sign. Also, the Rookie Silhouettes look very sharp. Finally, is there any way for us to get a Dual RC Class T-shirt?
    Thanks,
    T

  2. Have you guys ever thought about inserting the sample “sign here” cards in something. They may make interesting pulls in next years The National packs.

    1. Good question, Kevin. We actually have discussed that. We’ve also talked about including routings/proofs with editing marks, too. Would be interested to get everyone’s take on that.

      1. I thought the same thing, truth be told, when I looked at the gallery. I also remember you including the box/pack packaging printing plates at the National last year. I’m sure not everyone would like these quirky things, but maybe they could be tied into some kind of contest or the like.

  3. Those Sign Here cards would be really funny to have out in circulation, I’ve definitely seen some real autographs where you have to wonder why the player signed where he did. Thanks Chris!
