ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Last Saturday morning, just one day before Super Bowl XLV, Panini America and Pop Warner joined forces to present the 2011 Pop Warner Adrenalyn Bowl at Sam Houston High School, located within an Aaron Rodgers deep ball of the colossus known as Cowboys Stadium.
NFL superstars Brandon Lloyd of the Denver Broncos and Kevin Kolb of the Philadelphia Eagles were joined by high-potential 2011 NFL Draft mates Ryan Mallett (Arkansas Razorbacks) and Andy Dalton (TCU) as headlining celebrity coaches. To be sure, the four players delivered ample amounts of expertise and excitement to the morning’s frigid festivities.
An event that was supposed to feature exhibition football games between local Pop Warner teams — the Arlington Thunder and Mid-Cities Giants (from Pop Warner’s Pee Wee division), and the Oak Cliff Titans and Oak Cliff Redskins (from the Tiny-Mite division) — was forced into the school’s gymnasium by an arctic-minded Mother Nature.
Still, the show went on — and went swimmingly — thanks to the warm, winning Pop Warner spirit.
We could sit here and deliver a detailed play-by-play of everything that went on Saturday; but we figured this exclusive behind-the-scenes video would be much more enjoyable.
Really cool ….I can relate when you stated the amount of work it takes to set up and unpack boxes……..I used to help a friend years ago when he would set up for The Comic and card shows………was really cool seeing the athletes tossing the ball with the kids pretty sure it will stay with them for years to come………Great job Panini America!
