Panini America On Location: The Curtain Closes on the 2011 National Convention

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Sundays at the National Sports Collectors Convention are historically light on foot traffic and heavy on exhibitors packing up in advance of an early exit. But in a fitting finale to the 32nd edition, the Panini America booth remained jam-packed until the exhilarating end, filled with loyal collectors and crazy excitement until the doors closed at 5 p.m. local time.

ROSEMONT, Ill. — Sundays at the National Sports Collectors Convention are historically light on foot traffic and heavy on exhibitors packing up in advance of an early exit.

But in a fitting finale to the 32nd edition, the Panini America booth remained jam-packed until the exhilarating end, filled with loyal collectors and crazy excitement until the doors closed at 5 p.m. local time.

A wildly successful wrapper-redemption program left Panini America out of packs on Sunday. No worries. The company simply doubled up on the number of Box Wars it conducted during the show’s final hours, ensuring another frenzied day filled with more prizes, more show-floor sales and more intense customer satisfaction.

The following gallery details some of Sunday’s sweetest sights.

  1. Those are some sick cards!!! Wow I am so jealous, cannot wait for a chance to go. Someday, there and the Superbowl are on my bucket list. Thanks PANINI for keeping us collectors connected. MJ

    1. Buy a box, bring it to our booth. We’ll call out a category — lowest serial number on the right, for example — the person who pulls that card from their box wins the war.

  2. It sure would be great if you could turn the gallery into a slide show! Or a way to go from one picture to the next in all these great Gallerys

  3. Man what wicked cards! U guys should make a stop in Canada some time. Great job panini for putting out such awesome products!

  4. Well all i can say is I got my fix. Those are some great pulls. Love that Dale Murphy Patch. “Cardboard Crack”!!!! Can’t wait for Dominion,Thanks for the pics.

  5. Crank up the presses and get more redemption packs next time. You guys ran out way too early Friday and Saturday. If you are going to run a redemption program advertised at every wax dealer, at least have enough to cover it!

  6. Amazing that you guys ran out of the redemption packs! Shows that you need to go on the first days of the show instead of trying to wait till the last day, that’s for sure.

But it also proves how much much this promotion was a success! Congrats on that Panini! Might need to improve the number of redemption packs by x1.5 or x2 for next year. 😉

  7. Wish i could have been there. One day maybe you will take a trip to the 808? Business in Hawaii?? What could be better…Congrats on the convention. Looking forward to the contest!

  8. Looks like panini had the best booth at the national. Those are some sick cards, hopefully i will make it to the national one day. Panini makes some awesome cards and products.

  9. Thanks Panini for making this year’s National a Blast again. I had a really super exciting time and looking forward to making it for a 3rd straight Nationals again next year. Saw some of the pictures Tracy posted up during the show and I have to say it was pretty awesome! I didn’t even realize I had a picture of the back of my shirt taken haha Panini Masta ftw!! Pretty sick! Till next year!
