When the Denver Broncos host the Buffalo Bills at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Sunday, fans in attendance will receive a special pack of Broncos trading cards produced by Panini America. Players included in the special set are Peyton Manning, Von Miller, Julius Thomas, Demaryius Thomas, Terrance Knighton, DeMarcus Ware and Aqib Talib.

Each pack will also contain two extra cards featuring one of the game’s sponsors, Arrow. One card features race car driver Sam Schmidt and another highlights the SAM Project.

Schmidt is a former Indy Racing League driver who made 27 career starts and won at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 1999. On Jan. 6, 2000, Schmidt crashed during a practice lap at the Walt Disney World Speedway, severely injuring his spinal cord. He was diagnosed as a quadriplegic.

In June 2013, engineers and medical researchers joined forces to work toward a common vision — modifying a car to be safely driven at speed by head movements for a quadriplegic race driver. This is a semi-autonomous motorcar called SAM.

On May 18, 2014, Sam drove for the first time in 14 years. He completed a lap — reaching a top speed of 107 mph — at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway in front of thousands of spectators and a television audience in the millions.

Each pack contains an info card educating fans about Arrows’  involvement on the project. Fans can learn more at the Arrow and the SAM Project or at www.arrowsamcar.com.
