“The FanOculars product gives us a compelling platform to showcase Panini trading cards to the mass market and sports fans,” said Jason Howarth, Panini America’s Vice President of Marketing. “Incorporating Panini trading cards into the FanOculars product is also a great way of engaging sports fans in NFL stadiums, and at NBA and NHL arenas.”

“Adding an authentic sports card from Panini America to FanOculars will make for a unique and exciting new product,” said FanOculars President David Ballou. “We plan on introducing this new product immediately to all the sports leagues where Panini holds licenses. We look forward to a mutually successful partnership with one of the most innovative and creative companies in sports.”

  1. It will be very interesting to see who specifically this is marketed to age-wise and how it’s received by the collecting community overall. To my memory, many cross collectible ideas that incorporate cards and something else do not have anywhere near the same reception amongst hobbyists as the cards themselves. I do like the overall concept of a functional collectible like this, I’m constantly asked what trading card’s purpose are exactly by non-collectors. Thanks Tracy!

  2. Cool cross promotion…seems more for the kids but would be a cool addition to any family outing to a game…will there be a ‘series’ to collect or just a few select players?
