Out of all the images we previewed yesterday from Panini America's upcoming Father's Day promotion set, perhaps none created as much buzz from a pure wow-factor technology perspective than the mesmerizing "Cracked Ice" parallels.

Out of all the images we previewed yesterday from Panini America’s upcoming Father’s Day promotion set, perhaps none created as much buzz from a pure wow-factor technology perspective than the mesmerizing “Cracked Ice” parallels.

Without question, the hypnotic, fractured-foil effects of the Robert Griffin III and Tim Tebow cards in Friday’s gallery struck a collecting chord that reinforced the unparalleled nature of these parallels. As a result, it made sense to follow up today with a wider selection of preview images graced with Panini America’s smoldering “Cracked Ice” finish.

While showcasing the shimmering sparkle of the technology, the following gallery also underscores the far-reaching, multisport appeal of the entire Father’s Day set, with nods to the MLBPA, NFL, NHL and the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team.

Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional sneak peeks of the Panini America Father’s Day set, including upcoming galleries devoted to the set’s massive autograph checklist and unique game-worn and game-used memorabilia.

  1. Really like the design of the card, but the yellow and red Panini logo sticks out like a sore thumb. I think that Panini should think about a color scheme change to something that doesn’t clash with team colors. No one will mistake the brand with a name as “unique” as Panini even with new colors and/or a streamlined (and Americanized) logo. I think a silver or gold foil PANINI with no rectangle background would be perfect if not original. At the least it would keep the focus on the player, team, and design which are the features collectors look for.

  2. They def look nice!! Two thumbs up for this set. One question, whats the deal on getting packs? You gotta buy a box of Panini product or something? I hope my guy has some of them, or Ill have to go to the slightly farther away shop. Let me know if I can get em anywhere online, that be cool!

  3. Wow these look great, can only imagine what they would look like under lights as they get moved around. They remind me of my very first trading card from the 90’s a Shaq that had a similar sort of “cracked ice: appearance around the border. The Mannings and Tebows are the picks of the bunch!
