Panini America Previews More Fun from the Upcoming 2012 Triple Play Baseball

Just when you think no one makes really fun, truly affordable, kid-at-heart friendly baseball card sets anymore, well, Panini America does. And when we say that 2012 Triple Play Baseball is unlike just about any other trading card set you've ever seen, that's not just marketing speak. It's fact.

Just when you think no one makes really fun, truly affordable, kid-at-heart friendly baseball card sets anymore, well, Panini America does. And when we say that 2012 Triple Play Baseball is unlike just about any other trading card set you’ve ever seen, that’s not just marketing speak. It’s fact.

The lengthy roster of Triple Play’s uniquely endearing qualities — stickers, temporary tattoos, usable eye blacks, colorful illustrations of the game’s biggest stars — reads like some too-good-to-be-true collectible concoction devised by baseball-loving kids from the ages of 8 to 68.

The following gallery details some of the more enjoyable aspects of a product (including the Focus subset) that also includes wholesome doses of baseball history, education, star power and a pack price of just 99 cents. So as we near the late-July release of 2012 Triple Play Baseball, make your weekend by grabbing the collecting kids in your life, grabbing a seat and taking a look at more of what’s in store for this must-see summer blockbuster.

  1. I was wondering if u guys are thinking about doing a basketball one as well? Im 30 and even i wouldnt mind adding that to my collection!!

  2. This product looks like so much fun. Caught my kids attention. Would be great if you guys expanded to all of the sports as well. I know Triple Play has only been a baseball product…but switch the name and base these type of cards on it and that would be sweet. I love seeing a product the kids can collect with since they are the future of continuing this hobby and it also intrigues us adults as well. Great job Panini.

  3. Just opened 10 boxes… The set has 300 cards… 1-90 is the base set, 91-234 are puzzle pieces (16 players with 9 cards ea) 235-264 are Focus cards, 265-272 are Baseball 101,
274-284, 285-295 are “When I was a kid” cards, ans 296-300 are “How it’s Made” memorabilia cards (no players)…Stickers 1-30, Tattoos 1-5, Eye Black 1-6
