It took an MVP-clinching interception return in Super Bowl XLVIII, but Seattle Seahawks linebacker Malcolm Smith finally has his first NFL trading card. It's part of the special 18-card Super Bowl XLVIII Champions set that Panini America officials began shipping this week to retail and hobby outlets nationwide. In addition to 10 cards honoring key players from the 2013 Seahawks roster, the set includes eight cards featuring telling action photography from Super Bowl XLVIII.

Smith’s game-turning interception return is prominently featured as card No. 11 in the set, followed by equally captivating trading-card tributes to the passionate Seattle fans, the Legion of Boom, and other Super Bowl XLVIII superstars such as Russell Wilson, Percy Harvin, Jermaine Kearse, Marshawn Lynch and the Seahawks’ game-opening safety.
The 18-card set carries a $15 SRP and is on its way to stores now in packaging that features five different cover cards. You can get up close with every card in the special set in the preview gallery that follows.
Enjoy.
Could this month get any better. These are awesome.
With five different cover cards, does that mean a set card is used as the cover or that’s an additional/different card?
All 18 cards in the set are the same; the packaging just includes one of five different cards as the top card.
This has to be a tough one for you Tracy, this could’ve just have easily been a Broncos set. Better luck next year!
Yeah, not my favorite set we’ve ever done, but you’ve got to hand it to the Seahawks. They wanted it and they took it.
Sure it’s not your favorite as you would have preferred another team be on this set, but nice looking cards.
As a Hawks fan, I’m just thrilled with this…mine showed up today, I (randomly) got Russ holding the Lombardi trophy with ticket tape raining down around him…goosebumps! Thanks, Panini, from all the 12s out here in the Pac NW, and worldwide! Great set! Only way it could be any better is if it featured every player on the team.
