Panini America Provides a Pre-Ink Preview of 2012 National Treasures Football

Panini America's National Treasures Football is a product that needs no introduction. Year in and year out, it's the football category's most anticipated, most coveted and most valuable super-premium release. In fact, perhaps the only thing that could make the National Treasures Football franchise even stronger is the one thing collectors have been asking for: More on-card autographs of the NFL's current superstars and retired legends.

Panini America’s National Treasures Football is a product that needs no introduction. Year in and year out, it’s the football category’s most anticipated, most coveted and most valuable super-premium release. In fact, perhaps the only thing that could make the National Treasures Football franchise even stronger is the one thing collectors have been asking for: More on-card autographs of the NFL’s current superstars and retired legends.

When the 2012 edition releases in a few months, that’s exactly what collectors are going to get. We first teased this dramatic development in the Panini Peek preview post right here on The Knight’s Lance in early December. Today, we offer just a bit more detail.

Yesterday afternoon, a hot-off-the-presses shipment of those cards — the crisp, clean and elegant NFL Greatest Signatures and Virtuoso Signatures — arrived at Panini America HQ to be counted, QC’d and prepared for shipment to the respective superstars and legends on them for signing. Most are numbered to just 25, although some are even shorter (#’d to 10); a select few cards will be limited to 50 copies each.

Below you’ll find just some of the gems that will soon enough help make 2012 National Treasures Football one of the strongest renditions in the brand’s proud seven-year history. The next time you see these, they’ll be hard-signed. Enjoy the gallery and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional updates on 2012 National Treasures Football.

  1. Great job Panin! I hope this proves to all the haters that Panini does listen to their customers and strives to be the best and put out the best cards that everybody wants! Tracy, I would love to pull just about any of the above cards but you know which one I want to pull more than another right? That’s right, the BESTQB in theNFL right now and my favorite player Aaron Rodgers! I hope I’m lucky enough to pull any of the above hall of famer QB’s but especially my boy Aaron Rodgers! Keep up the great work Panini and thanks for listening to your fans/customers! Panini’s #1!!

  2. What a combination of impressive and interesting choices for these sets, I echo the sentiments of those who have been asking for both more on-card autographs and more veteran autographs. Very good job addressing both of those issues simultaneously, thanks Tracy!

  3. From this and the previous preview, I think this will be the best looking National Treasures yet. The design is clean and visually appealing. I agree the Brady looks great with him in the throwback uniform. I’m just happy Peyton isn’t in those atrocious Bronco throwbacks. I’m already setting some money aside for one of those Peterson autos. Great work Panini!

  4. When will the full checklist be on your website? I’d like to pre-order, but want to see the full checklist first before dropping $2000 on a case. Thanks!
