Panini America Provides Detailed First Look at 2013-14 Immaculate Basketball (Gallery)
This is no ordinary Knight’s Lance first look at an upcoming Panini America product. No, a product like 2013-14 Immaculate Basketball calls for something . . . special. Immaculate Basketball erupted onto the scene last season by commanding collector attention like few other premiere products ever have. From its massive game-worn memorabilia cards to its acetate-influenced and autographed SPs, 2012-13 Immaculate Basketball was an instant classic. So, how can Panini America possibly top that rookie juggernaut?
Well, with an Immaculate encore, of course. 2013-14 Immaculate Basketball is slated to arrive in hobby shops on September 3 boasting five autograph or memorabilia cards in every six-card box; it also delivers many of the now-legendary inserts that fanned the flames of last season’s success.
To be sure, the highlights are many and include . . .
- Autographed NBA Logoman cards of stars from yesterday, today and tomorrow.
- Massive prime swatches of memorabilia from your favorite player’s game-worn jerseys, including Nameplate, Jersey Number, Team Logo, Patches and Insignias chases.
- Unique gold-ink autographs in Scorers Club, Elite Scorers Club, The Greatest and HOF Heroes inserts.
- Rookie Logoman Autographs Booklets feature the hottest rookie combos of the 2013-14 season in one-of-a-kind booklets.
- The return of the vaunted Rookie Patch Autographs RCs.
- The opportunity for collectors to own full letters from the nameplates of game-worn jerseys in the Nameplate Nobility insert. (Think you can assemble the whole name?)
- The spectacular addition of the unique Sole of the Game insert featuring the tread from selected stars’ game-worn sneakers.
In the preview gallery that follows, we provide an early look at several mock-ups for 2013-14 Immaculate Basketball. But we told you at the top that this wasn’t your normal preview post — and it’s not. After the mock-ups, we follow up with an explosive array of on-card autographs that have already been returned for inclusion in the product.
It’s absolutely must-see stuff. Just be advised, you might want to be seated first. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for continued coverage.
