  1. Kind of like the recent clear rookie and Q cards. I like the Clear Vision cards you showed and Black & Gold is coming back again this season?

    1. When is enough enough? The interest certainly appears to be there, so the market obviously will bear it just fine.

  2. Sound like a great product! Lower price point is always good. I’m sure some people will not like just one auto per case(I would usually be one of them) but with a top notch autograph checklist like Clear has, at least u know the auto will be a big name and not any scrub player nobody wants, so I’m in! I think that should increase the value of the autos in the product and rookie cards. I’d do ANYTHING to be lucky enough to pull one of those Tom Brady autos! Great job Panini’

  3. Time to buy stock in acetate, it seems.

My concern is how autographs wear and weather time on acetate. Those of us who have been collecting since the mid-90’s have watched cherished autos slowly evaporate from some card stocks while blurring and growing utterly illegible on still others.

  4. Some great technology used in this set, it’ll be interesting to see who the players featured on the hits will be. I hope it’s more veteran heavy than rookies. Thanks Tracy!

  5. This product looks really promising. I look forward to busting into some. Kind of curious. How thick are these acetate cards? Are they cardboard thick or mem card thick?

  6. Robert, with Panini’s product quality, design, and overall customer service its not enough yet. Keep coming up with great cards.

  7. Going back and forth with this product. I agree we are getting too many products put out and there is only so much money most of us regular collectors can spread around on more and more products. But it does have a good price point, design is ok not great, and they are limiting patches more which is great sign. Since at this point they are almost worthless hit fillers unless it’s a superstar player and it looks amazing.

It’s getting hard and hard when you only have so much money every year to spend on the hobby to pick and choose a product that will be 1. Fun 2. Value 3. Good chance to hit big 4. Looks good 5. Not overprice.

  8. I LOVE the idea of this product. A very accessible price point, a base set that is unique, well designed, and potentially has a little value. No cheap, worthless, filler hits. I know the hits are fewer, but they are far more desirable, especially the autos! I’m also a huge fan of the acetate cards. This is an excellent model for a product going forward!

  9. Tracy,

I’m usually not a fan of the so-called “Hyper High End” product with the quality over quantity mentality. Because I sure as heck can’t afford to shell out $250 for what will likely amount to a pile of dust-collecting garbage. Clear Vision, however, sounds like it has a lot of promise.

    1) Acetate stock are by far the coolest and best cards out there. There’s so much that can be done and are very desirable!

    2) If the top-tier autos are in fact top-tier, you’re good. However, there could be issues if there are any corners cut. If even 1 “B-list” subject makes the auto list, it could be really bad. I expect to see a lot of good QB’s, superstar RB’s and WR’s, a TE or two, and a handful of first-round only draft picks, probably top 10 picks and offensive positions only. JJ Watt and Suh and a few other defensive players would be the exception to the above though.

    3) The price point is great. $66 a box? ~$20 a pack? I can roll the dice on that. It would be nice to see if there are boxes with “bonus” hits though so if the first pack that is bought has the hit, the other two don’t just sit there endlessly.

Look forward to seeing if Panini delivers on this one!

  10. I bought a Phillip Dorsett auto, I freaking love this card, kinda pricey in my books only cuz I have 2 kids and broke, wife not to happy, but well worth it, and I love how there are 50 total on the autos, it makes it that more rare and if he ends up being a stud, the price will only go up, but a long way from seeing how he will turn out, awesome cards panini
