Panini America Provides Detailed First Look at 2018 Donruss Football (Preview Gallery)

One of the great things about a flagship brand spending years consistently producing to become a flagship brand is that each and every year, the brand’s reputation precedes itself. Not much by way of introduction is needed for collectors to understand exactly what to expect. And so it is with Panini America’s fabled Donruss Football, annually  an endearing early season arrival that honors the best of last season with a nod to the season ahead.

For 2018, Donruss Football delivers everything longtime fans of the product have come to love (such as Rated Rookies, Press Proofs, a big base set) — and then some. New in 2018 Donruss Football is the rare Downtown case-hit chase that incorporates unique and original illustrations to capture the city each player represents. Set to arrive in hobby shops across North America in early August, each hobby box of 2018 Donruss Football (10 cards per pack, 24 packs per box, 18 boxes per case) will deliver, on average, one autograph, one memorabilia card, 24 Rookie Cards, 24 Rated Rookies, eight parallels and 40 inserts.

Additional highlights of the product include . . .

• One of the deepest checklists of the year featuring 300 veteran and retired players and 100 Rookie Cards.
• Hunt for rare Press Proof die-cuts that parallel the base set and come in Silver (numbered to 75), Gold (numbered to 25) and Black 1/1 versions.
• Rated Rookies returns — obviously — and features the top players from the 2018 NFL Draft including Saquon Barkley, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield and many more.
• Throwing it back three decades, the 1988 Tribute set takes collectors back in time to bring an old-school look with new-school talent; also hunt for the 1998 Tribute that captures the design from 1998 Donruss.
• A whole host of inviting new insert sets including MVP, Champ is Here, Snow Days, Walter Payton Man of the Year and Matthew Berry’s Fantasy Life.
• Rookie Phenom Jersey Autographs (numbered to 99 or less) that parallel to Prime (numbered to 25 or less) and Laundry Tag 1/1 versions.
• The always-popular Fans of the Game insert featuring some of the biggest names in Hollywood and sports. This year’s list of names includes the likes of snowboarding superstar Chloe Kim, actor Chris Evans and actor James Caan.
