In just a matter of days, Panini America NBA acquisitions maven Ivory Tabb will embark on a whirlwind tour around the league to acquire on-card signatures for 2011 Panini Preferred Basketball, the company’s highly anticipated first NBA product of the new season.
But before Tabb can begin her arduous excursion, she must first have cards in hand for the players to sign. And that process began earlier today with the arrival in-house of spectacular first specimens from Preferred’s Crown Royale and Panini’s Choice subsets.
Obviously, these cards aren’t signed and there’s not that many of them to preview just yet, but with collector excitement for new NBA trading cards reaching a fever pitch, we simply couldn’t wait to share them with you as soon as possible.
Enjoy this early look and stay tuned later today or tomorrow. We’ve been told the remaining Preferred cards are headed this way as we speak, so another gallery is sure to be in order.
Really neat stuff.
Oooh, a new Mark Price card to chase!
looking good! any rasheed wallace cards in preferred?
excited for some on-card goodness!!!
Can’t wait (and yes, that’s partially because I see a Byron on that sheet)
like the look of these, nice setup
Not just a setup, very good collection of Basketball (Gallery)
Really like the crown royale but the panini awards are really sweet!! Die cuts rule!!
Awesome stuff! If only there was a Rubio RC Auto to chase. Derrick Williams, you will be mine!
Some beautiful looking cards, can’t wait for the release.
Cant wait…hurry up PLEASE…lol ! Great cards Guys…keep up the Great work ! Anything on Iman Shumpert(Steal of this years Draft) auto rookie cards ?
Really nice stuff and I’m loving the “Panini Choice” die-cuts, reminiscent of the “Cramer’s Choice” from the Pacific product long ago.
Price is indeed a nice inclusion, as is Issel.
Awesome!! Those diecuts are great, a lot of legendary names in this preview too which is cool!
those are sweet!!!
OH SNAP! Cramer’s Choice is BACK!
Excuse me, PANINI’S Choice.
They look real nice!
Now that the cards are obviously printed, is there a checklist you can attach please??
As soon as I get my hands on one.
All look great, I look forward to the set, but why are they part of a chase around the league? they are all retired players?!? 😉
Cant wait for some new basketball product.
NICE!!! I cant wait to bust some boxes of this stuff!! Hey Tracy will you show us some pics of Durtantula, Kobe and Blake Griffiin autos when you get them? So you guys said the 2011/2012 rookie autos will be redemptions? I figured since they didnt have a rookie premeire photo shoot last year, there autos and pictures would take longer to get, right? Keep up the great work Panini!!!!
Actually, they’ll be double rookie redemptions for both 2011-12 Rookies and 2012-13 Rookies. Should be epic. And as soon as we get Durant, Blake and Kobe autos in, we’ll absolutely show them off.
Talents like Kemba and Irving headline the year, but later picks such as Iman Shumpert and revelation Marshon Brooks really fill-out a surprisingly deep ’11 class, while the ’12-13 rookie pool is reportedly even deeper.
The upshot? Great product overflowing with with minty-fresh rookie goodness offering solid investment and collectability value. NJ Net Marshon Brooks….how ’bout that!!?
It’s great to see basketball cards come back in season, the HOF autographs will make this a nice set. Can’t go wrong with the die-cut crowns!
How will the 12-13 rookie redemptions work? Just curious about that aspect.
Although it’s early yet, I believe the 2012-13 redemptions will include overall pick number. The card will be redeemable for whoever was picked with that selection.
Love the draft-pick redemptions. I vaguely recall Playoff doing something similar with a Football product, and that was well received (hint-hint).
Looking forward to breaking some of this year’s Hoops wax!
I think you’re on to something there, Jamey.
I want a pyramid card, that is a great look and idea.nice
