It’s no secret that some of the most scrutinized Panini America redemption cards released in the last few years have been those inserted into 2010 Donruss Elite Extra Edition Baseball good for autographs of Manny Machado.

It was big news when Machado finally returned his autographed cards and stickers in May. It might be even bigger news for those collectors who’ve waited so long to know that the cards are finally on their way back out to you.

Earlier today I received several “CS: Redemption Batch Report” emails from a Panini America Customer Service team once again pulling weekend duty. Those emails are the basis for the Panini America Redemption Card Updates we routinely post on The Knight’s Lance to keep collectors informed.

One name in particular from today’s emails caught my attention: Machado. Here’s what was batched and prepped for shipping today.

  1. General redemption question: What’s the best process for requesting a substitution after the 4/8 month window? Is it on the site, or via phone?

  2. About darn time! Hope you send your loyal PATIENT customers some “thanks for being patient” gifts.
Nothing like waiting 7+ months for a redemption, THEN ANOTHER 2 months once the stickers are in house to receive our cards. Awesome.

  3. Yeah, seriously…it would be awfully thoughtful of the folks at P.A. to include some “thanks for your patience” gifts to those 600-700 folks who’ve sent redemptions in. I’ve tried getting status updates through the website, but never had the honor of getting a response. Ugh.
