Panini America officials are proud to announce  that the company will once again conduct its Live Redemption Trade-Up program on location during next week’s 2015 National Sports Collectors Convention in Chicago.

Back by popular demand for the fourth straight year, the unique initiative will be conducted live at the Panini America booth and will afford those collectors in attendance holding multiple outstanding redemption cards FOUR MONTHS OR OLDER AND ALREADY PENDING IN THE PANINI AMERICA REDEMPTION SYSTEM the opportunity to trade them in for a card or cards of higher value.

For example, a collector holding four outstanding redemption cards with a combined Beckett value of $80 will have the chance to trade-up those four cards for one $100 card via a carefully constructed grab-bag system. The Panini America Customer Service team has assigned values to replacement stock and will offer grab bags containing one autograph or prime memorabilia card or a box of product at the $50, $100, $150 and $200 levels.

Each grab bag will offer minimum values at the depicted levels but many will deliver more than the listed value. Some $50 grab bags will contain cards valued at as much as $80; $100 grab bags will contain cards valued at as much as $140, $150 grab bags will contain cards valued as much as $180, and $200 grab bags will contain cards valued at as much as $250. Each grab bag may also include live onsite redemption cards good for boxes of product. And new this year to the program is the addition of highly coveted Panini Black Boxes.

The Panini America Redemption Trade-Up program will be separated by sport, and collectors will get to choose what sport they select as a replacement. The available sports will be baseball, basketball and football.

In order to help expedite the process, collectors participating in the Panini America Redemption Trade-Up program are encouraged to bring with them print outs from the Panini America Website of the outstanding redemptions they want to have replaced at the National. A Customer Service team member onsite will verify the outstanding redemptions as well as their values before completing the replacement process.

Each redemption card being swapped out must be a minimum of four months old and already pending in the Panini America online redemption system; collectors may swap out up to $400 in value at the show while supplies last. Outstanding redemption cards must total a minimum of $35 in value in order to be eligible for this program. Collectors also will be required to sign a waiver that states they agree to the random pulled replacement.

The Panini America Redemption Trade-Up program will begin Wednesday, July 29, and the complete schedule for the show is listed below (hours subject to change). The Redemption Trade-Up program can also be used for live replacements on redemption cards pulled during the Panini America wrapper-redemption program and Box Wars. Rewards points will be excluded from the Trade-Up program. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance and the Panini America Facebook and Twitter accounts for additional details.

  1. What about people that have been holding and waiting over a year or two for a redemption that has dropped below the $80 because now it’s two years later???

    1. Replacements can be requested once the 4 month waiting period is over and the item is not in stock. As a card can lower in value, it can also raise in value. The value that will be honored will be the value at the time of the replacement request.

  2. Kind of unfair if you ask me…I’ve been waiting quite longer than 4 months for a bunch of redemptions…because I can’t attend nationals, I get nothing…great program…SMH

    1. Although we would love to be able to always honor the trade up program, it is exclusive to the National each year on a first come first serve basis while supplies last. Redemption replacements however, can always be requested via phone call to 800-852-8833.

  3. My brother’s got a 2011 Contenders SP/99 Owen Marecic that will probably never be fulfilled, but also a Julio Jones Rookie Ticket. How on Earth has Panini not made Julio’s Rookie Ticket auto’s yet?!

Somebody needs to be reminded on the development team. Clearly slipped through the cracks and forgot about somehow, cuz he has tons of other rookie autos.

    1. Unfortunately any existing Panini on-card autos of Julio Jones that exist were signed prior to the release of Contenders along with a number of other programs. He has not signed since and the Panini team is actively pursuing the completion of his outstanding redemptions. Replacements can be requested once an item has been pending past the minimum of 4 months.

      1. Ok, but it better take precedent over any other auto he signs! If the 2011 Rookie Tickets are still unfulfilled, and he’s got new 2015 “Totally Super Duper Awesomely Certified” autographs in packs this year, somebody’s got some ‘splainin to do!!

  4. It is good for those who can be there, but what can i do with my redemption cards what are pending for over 2 years?

  5. Thanks for offering this again. Panini is hands down best in the indsutry when it comes to customer service.

  6. Tracy, so I have a handful of unredeemed redemption cards…Are these not eligible then for this trade-up promotion? Was really hoping they would be. Thanks

    1. Sorry Michael. They have to be redeemed in the system on or prior to 05/04/2015. Unscratched/unredeemed redemptions are not eligible for the trade-up program,

  7. What about the people that dont go to the convention and have old redemptions that are still not redeemed?

  8. Great program for those who can travel or live close, However I do neither. What happens to the dozens of redemption cards I am still waiting for from 2012 and 2013?

  9. Cool program. I can’t ever make it there and just as easy tweet at CSM when I need a replacement. He is always there to help!

  10. Did Max Komar sign no autographs for all his 2010 cards? Gotta love that “NO AUTOGRAPH” in place of his auto! He must’ve told Panini to take a hike- for them to just send back that card, instead of hoping he’d sign eventually like everyone else! You’d think he and some of those other guys would be happy to be compensated for signing some autos considering their NFL careers are long gone…

  11. I’ve always had good experiences requesting replacements from Panini, if an athlete won’t/can’t sign then there isn’t much they can do about it unfortunately. Great program for those who can attend the Nationals, thanks Tracy!
