Following a few solid weeks of collector speculation and buzz-generating buildup, Panini America finally is ready to announce complete details surrounding the showstopping wrapper-redemption program it has planned for next month’s 2012 National Sports Collectors Convention in Baltimore.

Over the weekend we showcased many of the inserts we have planned for the show, including first looks at the Cracked Ice parallels and Team Colors sets. We also pulled the curtain back in recent weeks with previews of the instant-win packaging printing plates and the National VIP sets we’re bringing to Baltimore. But today, we’re finally ready to release specifics on how to participate — as well as preview the show-exclusive base set in all of its splendor.

Once again this year, we have developed a must-bust program for collectors that includes a stunning base set, Rookie Cards numbered to 499 and several inserts, headlined by the aforementioned Team Colors insert. There also are randomly inserted autograph and memorabilia cards including Tools of the Trade, NFL Draft Materials, signed Rookie Patch Cards and instant-win cards redeemable on-site for autographed memorabilia.

What’s more, we also have a few surprises stuck up our sleeve that we’ll show you as the National draws closer.

You can find complete details on the specific products eligible for Panini America’s 2012 National wrapper-redemption program by click on this: 2012 National Wrapper

Once you’ve carefully scrutinized that, treat yourself to the following preview gallery of the show-exclusive base set. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance in the coming days for sneak peeks at the set’s autograph and memorabilia inclusions.

  1. I really hope Panini unveils a way for those of us not going a chance to land some of this sweet card set. Some great rookies in there. However..no NYG would be my only downer on it. Super Bowl Champs??!!

I do like the Harper and KG JR. And I don’t think I will ever become accustomed to seeing Peyton Manning in a Broncos uni like you probably have by now Tracy.

  2. Hey guys, any chance those of us who can’t make it to Nationals get the same opportunity as Fathers day? Fire up the redemption program at icollectpanini again! Even if not keep the good work up, we all love what you do.

  3. Got our Hotel all set tonight!! Man we’re pumped to go to our first National. We’ll be sure to come meet ya Tracy!! Cant wait man, always cool to come by and say thank you for all the awesome stuff you do for us collectors!! Now back to work haha to get my National funds 🙂

  4. Will they still have the xx/25 or xx/50 cards this year like you have done in years past? Also, what time will these be available on Wednesday? Will there be a limit on how many packs you can get the first day? Was planning on busting a few cases of elite! Pretty pumped! Thanks!

  5. How come you have this upcoming seasons NBA’s Rookies, but last seasons NHL Rookies. And the NHL Draft was held before the NBA’s. What’s up wit dat?

  6. Do you know if there is any Super short print in any of these cards? I saw on the Harper, it was number to 400 or something like that, but wonder if they had differnt variations and or numbering? They all look awesome, cool to see Irving and Kidd Gilchrest on cards.

    1. Was wondering the same thing Jon! Years past they had variations of these cards serial numbered xx/50 & xx/25. Was curious to see if these would be brought back!

      1. I know there are Cracked Ice parallels that are limited to 30 or less; but I don’t THINK those are numbered. I will confirm with Scott Prusha and let you guys know, though.

      2. I stand corrected in a BIG WAY. There will be numbered parallels in the National set just as in years past. Just when you thought things couldn’t possibly get any better . . .
