In addition to spicing up a slow-moving Monday afternoon, our post brought collectors who hadn’t yet picked up on the discrepancies up to speed on the slight differences that exist on 11 of the 36 cards. Today, we pull the curtain back on the remaining 25.
To more easily identify the differences, we’ve zoomed in on the images on the cards in the following gallery.
Now that some of the mystery within 2011 Playoff Contenders Football has been removed, we’ll focus our attention in the coming days on revealing the other autographed SPs within the Rookie Tickets subset. So stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance tomorrow for more information.

Ok, so how do I know if my redemption is for the standard version or the shortprint version?
The card will be randomly inserted into that player’s lot and randomly selected by CS personnel.
How good are my chances of getting the Greg Little variation if I submitted three redemptions?
Good question. Not sure how many variations he has, but the cards would be randomly selected from his lot.
Any idea when the actual print list numbers will come out?? and are there going to be a sp in the sticker set as well??
Yes, there are SPs in the sticker autographs as well — and we’ll begin listing those SPs tomorrow.
What is the difference on the Locker?
That was the toughest one for me to detect, too. It’s the number on his shoulder.
Me, I’d rather have the base card than an SP variation with a trivial and pointless Photoshop manipulation. And Julio Jones got a haircut for his SP? lol
Understand and appreciate your feedback. I just noticed Julio’s trim myself.
When is the sp list coming out?
Ugh Ridley is going to still be in #34? That’s a bummer, especially as that is now Vereen’s #…Ridley has been #22 for a long time now! Can his number be photoshopped to 22 before the redemptions are mailed out? 🙂
Shared this on my page as well.
Since you did not post a robert housler contenders sp im guessing he doesnt have one?
These are just the 36 RPS variations. We’ll begin listing the other SPs tomorrow.
Going to be checking mine out….I thought Gabbert was on this list as well??
Got to double check my Jernigan 🙂
I dont get why my reply went above my post instead of with mine. Hope it doesn’t confuse the other person.
Just to be sure I understand this. The variants are the ones without the Riddell logos. This is the best you could come up with? Wow, That’s Lame. Glad I’m not a Contenders collector.
The altered versions are the SPs.
when is SP list come out for now?
We’ll start releasing SP lists for Contenders Football and Contenders Baseball tomorrow.
are the variations limited in print or are they printed 1 to 1 ratio with the normal tickets?
The variations are limited. Stay tuned, we’re about to post the list.
It’s like looking for Waldo, fun and frustrating. But a great idea!
Is the da’ quan bowers have a photo variation? Mine appears to not have the ridell logo above his face mask where its suppose to be like some of the other photo variations.
No, sir. He only has one version.
just got rps rookie ticket redemption..will it tell me if its a or b status online or do i need to call to find out, or if its a short print, thanks
So does Delone Carter NOT have an SP? On the reveal it says he has 100 but I don’t see him above.
He has an RPS photo variation.
