Panini America 2013 National VIP Party Main

ROSEMONT, Ill. — For the second time in as many years, Panini America officials delivered a rocking party for the ages on Saturday night at the National Sports Collectors Convention. As a result, for the second time in as many years, Panini America stole the show.

On a night when meteorically rising special guest Yasiel Puig created a buzz on the Panini party floor at least as big as the massive ice sculpture that anchored the specious and raucous Rosemont Ballroom inside the Hyatt Regency O’Hare, Panini America officials entertained customers, partners and special guests while creating a buzz strong enough to last at least until this time next year — and likely much, much longer.

Puig was joined on the VIP guest list by fellow baseball superstars Johnny Damon and Pedro Martinez, NHL legend Chris Chelios, NFL Hall of Famer Dan Hampton and young NBA stars Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Thomas Robinson. All the while, the legendary DJ Kool kept the party bouncing with timeless old-school hip-hop tunes and a live rendition of his classic “Let Me Clear My Throat.”

Panini America’s VIP customers in attendance gained entry into the exclusive shindig by spending $7,500 on Panini America product on the 34th National show floor — and the event was sold out in just 48 hours. The overwhelming consensus, however, was that the VIPs got a bargain.

In addition to rubbing elbows with — and receiving autographs from — the special guests, party-goers were treated to good food, good times and special VIP Gold Packs that have started making their way to eBay. The following gallery should provide at least some behind-the-scenes vibe.
