Panini America’s 2013 Toronto Fall Expo Set Features Numbered RCs, Cracked Ice, More
This time next week, Panini America officials will be smack dab in the middle of Canadian collecting bliss, buzzing through the second day of the 2013 Toronto Fall Expo and no doubt filling one industrial-sized trash can after another with the shredded remnants of the company’s always-popular wrapper-redemption program.
Once again this year, Panini America’s Scott Prusha has developed a showstopping set exclusively for the show that includes Rookie Cards numbered to 399 and traditional promotional powerhouses such as Cracked Ice (numbered to 25 or less) and Progressions (limited to five of each color) parallels, Tools of the Trade and Rookie Materials memorabilia cards, and autographed versions of just about everything.
Earlier this week we brought you a sneak peek of the base cards slated for the wrapper-redemption set. Today, we’re delivering your first look at the numbered RCs and a salivating sampling of the aforementioned Cracked Ice and Progressions cards. But before we get to the eye candy, we want to detail exactly how this year’s redemption program will work.
To participate at the show, collectors must purchase selected Panini America sports card products from the Expo show floor, bring that unopened product to the Panini America booth and open it in front of a Panini America representative. In exchange for their empty wrappers, collectors will receive the appropriate number of wrapper-redemption packs.
Below is the complete list of eligible products and the number of redemption packs you’ll receive for each box opened at the Panini America booth.

In addition to the wrapper-redemption program, Panini America will be conducting Box Wars during all three days of the show, running its popular Redemption Trade-Up Program, qualifying collectors for an invitation to the Panini VIP Party on Saturday night and providing a special incentive to those customers breaking cases of 2013-14 Select Hockey at the company’s booth. We’ll have additional details to share on those events in the coming days.
Today, however, we want you to sit back and soak in the splendor of the Expo-only RCs and parallels. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance tomorrow for a must-see preview of some of the set’s memorabilia inserts, and early next week when we examine the Expo set’s rich autograph content and a whole new array of Original Player Sketch Cards.
