This time next week, Panini America officials will be smack dab in the middle of Canadian collecting bliss, buzzing through the second day of the 2013 Toronto Fall Expo and no doubt filling one industrial-sized trash can after another with the shredded remnants of the company's always-popular wrapper-redemption program.
This time next week, Panini America officials will be smack dab in the middle of Canadian collecting bliss, buzzing through the second day of the 2013 Toronto Fall Expo and no doubt filling one industrial-sized trash can after another with the shredded remnants of the company’s always-popular wrapper-redemption program.
Once again this year, Panini America’s Scott Prusha has developed a showstopping set exclusively for the show that includes Rookie Cards numbered to 399 and traditional promotional powerhouses such as Cracked Ice (numbered to 25 or less) and Progressions (limited to five of each color) parallels, Tools of the Trade and Rookie Materials memorabilia cards, and autographed versions of just about everything.
Earlier this week we brought you a sneak peek of the base cards slated for the wrapper-redemption set. Today, we’re delivering your first look at the numbered RCs and a salivating sampling of the aforementioned Cracked Ice and Progressions cards. But before we get to the eye candy, we want to detail exactly how this year’s redemption program will work.
To participate at the show, collectors must purchase selected Panini America sports card products from the Expo show floor, bring that unopened product to the Panini America booth and open it in front of a Panini America representative. In exchange for their empty wrappers, collectors will receive the appropriate number of wrapper-redemption packs.
Below is the complete list of eligible products and the number of redemption packs you’ll receive for each box opened at the Panini America booth.

In addition to the wrapper-redemption program, Panini America will be conducting Box Wars during all three days of the show, running its popular Redemption Trade-Up Program, qualifying collectors for an invitation to the Panini VIP Party on Saturday night and providing a special incentive to those customers breaking cases of 2013-14 Select Hockey at the company’s booth. We’ll have additional details to share on those events in the coming days.
Today, however, we want you to sit back and soak in the splendor of the Expo-only RCs and parallels. Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance tomorrow for a must-see preview of some of the set’s memorabilia inserts, and early next week when we examine the Expo set’s rich autograph content and a whole new array of Original Player Sketch Cards.

Once again Scott has outdone himself, love the look of this years redemption cards.
Thx I had a lot of help!
Looks awesome guys, as usual. May have to get my favorite online breakers to rip a box or 3 for me. Question, will there be a full checklist available at some point? Thanks.
We get that question a lot but since the sets are so small, we usually just show images of all the cards.
I tried to put together the check list and uploaded it over at Zistle.com for the Panini Fall Expo 2013. The sets look great! Two thumbs up to Scott!
why should we have to buy products from the show floor? you have not done this in the past. I have already pre bought a few boxes to bring with me, not wanting to pay over inflated prices at show. very disappointed about this change
You were doing a good job until I read the part about buying product from the show floor. These vendors overcharge for products big time. This is the exact reason I hate the Upper Deck redemption program. I already pre-purchased boxes in anticipation of this promo to avoid ridiculously over-inflated prices. Please reconsider this aspect of your program.
Part of the point of these promos and redemptions is to encourage people to support the vendors set up at the Fall Expo. I don’t think it’s unreasonable for Panini to try to help out the vendors who sell their products by putting this qualification in place. The program looks great and I for one will be opening multiple cases of Select to qualify for the VIP Party as well as these ridiculously good redemptions. Congrats Panini on a great effort.
These are sooooooo cool! Wished I lived closer to go!
Impressive lineup of parallels and cracked ice cards up for grabs. Love it! Also liking the inclusion of breaking other products besides hockey to get in on the redemption pack action. Great idea fellas!! Always thinking outside the conventional box, that’s what makes Panini so unique in its own right when it comes to catering to the card collecting community.
Appreciate the point about patronizing the vendors set up at the expo, but the problem with that is that most non-hockey products are difficult (if not impossible) to find on the show floor. Having gone to the last several shows basketball products seem particularly scarce, so I could hardly fault someone for bringing in Elite or Intrigue rather than buying a product they don’t want just to participate in the wrapper redemption. And I completely agree with the issues related to pricing, since at times boxes have been near double what they would cost outside of the event. All that being said this program continues to be the reason I travel up to Canada twice a year. Looking forward to seeing everyone next weekend!
Thanks for this info and preview Tracy, will there be an online component as well? Thanks!
How cool to meet Tracy Hackler and see my pal Scott Prusha at the sportscard and memorbillia expo in Toronto, great to see you guys.
Great to see you guys. Thanks for stopping by the booth.
