Panini America’s Black Friday Confidential: Super Bowl XLVI Memorabilia Cards

Without question, one of the single most talked-about, buzz-generating aspects of Panini America's 2011 Black Friday set was the inclusion of unique memorabilia cards that incorporated game-used footballs and end zone pylons from the Green Bay Packers' Super Bowl XLV victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Without question, one of the single most talked-about, buzz-generating aspects of Panini America’s 2011 Black Friday set was the inclusion of unique memorabilia cards that incorporated game-used footballs and end zone pylons from the Green Bay Packers’ Super Bowl XLV victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

They were unique. They were colorful. They were cool. They were valuable. But most importantly, they’re back. Releasing next week inside Panini America’s 2012 Black Friday packs is a stunning new chapter in the Super Bowl memorabilia series of game-used pylon and football cards — this time incorporating items used in the New York Giants’ Super Bowl XLVI victory over the New England Patriots.

Boasting rare autographed versions, a star-studded checklist, and trademark card backs featuring images of the historic pieces of Super Bowl equipment in their last days of completeness, these new additions should prove to be every bit as compelling and entertaining as the Giants’ 21-17 victory last February.

We’ve provided a fantastic first look at the set in the gallery below. Also new this year are two Super Bowl MVP memorabilia cards honoring Aaron Rodgers (XLV) and Eli Manning (XLVI), incorporating game-used pylons from each QB’s big-game victory.

Check out all of the cards below and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional Black Friday details.
