Panini America’s Iconic Score Football Set to Celebrate 30th Anniversary (Preview)

Panini America 2019 Score Football 30th

Panini America’s fabled Score Football franchise was at the forefront of the modern football-card boom in the late 1980s with a green-bordered beast of a 1989 debut that included now-iconic Rookie Cards featuring the likes of Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, Troy Aikman and more. Fast forward three decades — or, seemingly an eternity in hobby years — and the brand remains a robust start to every collecting season. And with the late-April release of 2019 Score Football, the company is planning to inject a wealth of 30th Anniversary tributes into the product with a classic throwback design, hobby-exclusive 1989 Score Football BuyBack cards, rare autograph versions and more.

Scheduled to release on April 24, hobby boxes (40 cards per pack, 10 packs per box, 12 boxes per case) will deliver, on average, four autographs, 96 Rookie Cards, 10 parallels, 36 inserts and one foil-stamped BuyBack. Once again this season, Score Football will deliver some of the first officially licensed Rookie Cards and Rookie Card Autographs from the top 2019 rookies.

The highlights of this special 30th Anniversary edition of Score Football are many and include . . .

  • New 30th Anniversary parallels of the base set limited to just 30 copies.
  • The biggest set of 2019 will feature 440 cards including 330 base cards and 110 rookies.
  • A bevy of new inserts for 2019 including Epix Game, Epix Moment and Epix Season which highlight the undeniable excellence of 2018’s biggest performers.
  • Look for a variety of base parallels to chase including Scorecard, Gold Zone (numbered to 50), Artist Proof (numbered to 35), 30th Anniversary (numbered to 30), Red Zone (numbered to 20), First Down (numbered to 10), End Zone (numbered to six) and Gem Masters 1/1s.
  • The spectacular All Hands Team and Celebration inserts showcasing some of the most spectacular catches and team celebrations of 2018, respectively.
  • The venerable Inscriptions insert returns featuring autographs from some of the best current and retired players the NFL has to offer.

We’ll have plenty more on 2019 Score Football in the coming weeks here on The Knight’s Lance. But until then, enjoy this must-see first look, (keeping in mind that the 2018 rookies featured in the preview gallery below are merely to show collectors what Score’s various rookie designs will look like):
