FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Sequestered for two days in a sleepy but supple hotel in northern New Jersey, 37 of the most promising rookies in the NBA spent the better part of Sunday and Monday helping Panini America officials make basketball card magic. They were in New Jersey to take part in the two-day Rookie Transition Program prior to today’s 2013 NBA Rookie Photo Shoot in Tarrytown, N.Y.

In addition to knocking out a huge chunk of their signing responsibilities for Panini America’s upcoming 2013-14 NBA trading card calendar, the rookies also helped turn the company’s popular Next Day Autographs in record time.

They slipped on their new NBA jerseys for grip-and-grin photographs throughout the day on Sunday. By Monday at 1 p.m., the finished trading cards arrived back at the host hotel on an extremely expedited shipment of precious cargo that was met with rave reviews as soon as it arrived.

After a few priceless moments of breathless inspection, each of the players began autographing 100 of their first official NBA trading cards for insertion later this year into 2013-14 Panini Basketball. We’ve provided a must-see examination of most of the cards — as well as some cool shots of the players signing them — in the gallery below.

  3. These cards look great! Good to see you guy’s are better prepared for this years draft class.

Still think it is kind of ironic you’ll prob be able to get signed cards from this years draft class before you manage to get your XRC redemptions from 2011

  4. Thanks for sharing a behind the scenes look, would be great to see more of these with the cards being produced/auto’d/packed out – neat to see the process. I need to study up on my hoops stars, because I haven’t heard of a single player who was there!

  5. The Bullock looks awesome!! Did yall go over with the players to make the autos look nice since we are paying for them? They all look good except Caldwell Pope, he has no excuses if Giannis can sign his name.

  6. Great looking stuff. I am really interested in which rookies will stand out this year. Not many big names so could be some surprises.

  7. I love all of these autos it makes me want to go out and buy ever single panini america product. KCP has the worst signature by far and will never get me to buy that for all I care I could print a picture out of him and write K. C. P. #5 it is a s good as authentic to me and to anybody else. I will purchase all of the other autos though keep ’em coming Panini I love it!

  8. Is 2013-14 Panini Basketball released yet? If not, when will it be released? Can’t wait to see these hard-signed rookie cards!
