Panini America 2015 National Base Parallels (55)

The highly anticipated 2015 National Sports Collectors Convention will open its doors later this afternoon for a special sneak peek engagement to kick off the annual five-day extravaganza that celebrates the best and brightest the sports collectibles industry has to offer. Once again this year, Panini America plans to steal the show with a flurry of must-see activities inside the company’s engaging, energetic and marquee-attraction of a centerpiece booth.

Although much of the excitement at this year’s show will revolve around the company’s always-epic wrapper-redemption program, Panini America officials have created a jam-packed National schedule that promises to keep the Windy City rocking well into Sunday night. You can check out all the details in this post and also in this one.

Today, though, as we anxiously await the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center doors opening, we thought we’d take one final look at some of the surprises randomly inserted into those magical silver-foil wrapper-redemption packs. Through a series of posts compiled in the first link above for easy access, we’ve shown you every tantalizing aspect of this year’s set — except for one: The base parallels.

Throughout the years, Panini America has captivated collectors with a string of write-home-worthy National parallels, including technologically advanced, hip-named chasers such as Cracked Ice, Lava Flow, HyperPlaid and more. Panini America’s National parallels are, in a word, “unparalleled.” But don’t simply take our word for it — check out the stunning gallery of this year’s gems below and see for yourself.

Cracked Ice returns with cards numbered to just 25. The HyperPlaid 1/1s are back, too. As for those circular jaw-droppers numbered to 10 below? Those are called “Pyramids” and will be found inside Panini America’s Gold VIP packs distributed at Saturday night’s Panini VIP Party.

Stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance all week long for complete coverage from the 2015 National Sports Collectors Convention. But for now, let’s cut to the (parallel) chase. Enjoy.
