Panini America’s bold reintroduction of the Prime Signatures Football brand will enter its second season when the 2012 edition releases in early October, this time packing some exciting new bells and whistles that should help the product continue to climb higher into the collective collecting heart of football fans.

2012 Prime Signatures Football will again deliver one autograph in every four card pack, the crisp, clean design that helped the 2011 version sing and on-card autographs of the top rookies on RCs numbered to 199 or less. But the real news here is the addition of scarce jumbo prime materials rookie-signed inserts and the inclusion of the landmark Pen Pals, football’s favorite multi-autographed insert set.

Other highlights of the new-and-improved Prime Signatures . . .

  • Greatest Combo Signatures: Dual-signed cards showcasing some of the NFL’s greatest players numbered to 10 or less.
  • Rookie Prime Materials:  Featuring on-card autographs and prime swatches of event-worn jersey numbered to 99 or less; look for unique Printing Plate versions numbered to 1.
  • Rookie Extreme Prime Materials Jumbo: Featuring on-card autographs with a jumbo prime swatch of event-worn jersey, sequentially numbered to 99 or less; Event-Worn NFL Shield versions will be numbered to 1.

  2. I loved the design to last years base cards. The thick cards with a very high gloss. The autos jumped right off from them and stood above other cards…but adding a prime pieces to it..really improves it even more!

  3. Wow….really loved this clean, crisp set. Looks like we are set for a sequel that will knock our socks off! Panini leading the way yet again.

  4. Wow, the event-worn jersey/autos add an additional dimension to the product that pushes it over to, “THAT’S what I’m looking for territory.”
As an aside, I have never seen Bo and Brown paired up… that’s a sweet duo.

  5. Looks like a great improvement over last year’s product, some very exciting cards in that preview. I told a lot of people that last year’s would turn into an overlooked yet solid product due to the release date, this year’s looks like it could be a standout on it’s own. Thanks as always Tracy!

  6. Those are some nice additions to the product, but was kind of hoping to go a bit bigger. It would of been nicer to move away from a pretty big gamble of a product to buy for one hit to something with a little more depth. But I do like the additional content to add a bit of value to the entire run of product.

  7. Honestly, I do not understand why Panini would water this product down with crappy event-worn materials. I guess you can’t please everyone, but I was thrilled with the previous version. They cut out all the lame parallels & fabric cards and stuck with quality autographs.
The combo signatures are great though and that’s what will most likely tempt me into buying a few packs. Some collectors are a bit delusional thinking that event-worn materials have value. I highly doubt I’m the only one who finds zero appeal in them. If I pull any, they’re going to my little cousin
