HOUSTON -- For most of an electrifying first half during last night's 2013 NBA All-Star Game, it appeared that Panini America exclusive Blake Griffin had turned the event into his own personal slam-dunk contest, producing an arena-arresting series of poster-worthy jams suitable for framing. Griffin finished the first half with 12 points -- all on dunks -- and then retreated to the locker room for a fresh pair of shoes.
HOUSTON — For most of an electrifying first half during last night’s 2013 NBA All-Star Game, it appeared that Panini America exclusive Blake Griffin had turned the event into his own personal slam-dunk contest, producing an arena-arresting series of poster-worthy jams suitable for framing. Griffin finished the first half with 12 points — all on dunks — and then retreated to the locker room for a fresh pair of shoes.
Retired for the evening, Griffin’s high-flying first-half footwear — the electric green and canyon purple Jordan Super.Fly 2s that were louder than anything produced by Ne-Yo or Alicia Keys last night — took the short trip to Toyota Center’s section 115, landing in the secure hands of Panini Authentic’s Brian Bayne.
While the shoes’ final destination is not yet known (well-heeled sneakerheads are no doubt licking their chops), there are a few certainties:
- The awe-inspiring kicks will soon be available on the Panini Authentic Website
- And we just couldn’t live with ourselves if we didn’t capture a few images of the shoes, which we did well before the third quarter ended last night.
Enjoy the gallery, and stay tuned to The Knight’s Lance for additional coverage of Panini Authentic’s sneaker-securing exploits from 2013 NBA All-Star Weekend.
Cut em up and put em into to some wicked looking Allstar Subset.
Or just give them to me. Please
I know the shoes will be sold on Panini Authentic but I would have loved to see them cut up and inserted in to cards (like Beemz Trading Cards suggested above). I love shoe relic cards, they are pretty rare and with these colors it would bring some serious attention from collectors.
Nice pickups for Panini, that green really pops. Thanks for the gallery Tracy!
Those are some green shoes!
the tounge logo better be in a booklet auto 1/1…just sayin… 🙂
Would make for some killer memorabilia cards! This is how you bring the memorabilia card back to being hot. With unique colors and different items than just jerseys. Shoes, sweat bands, arm bands, all types of bands. The jumbo towels were cool on Black Friday. If there was a way to get a players towel he used from the game that would make a cool jumbo card. Sick purchase though Panini!
Amazing!!
