Panini Instant NFL Recap: First-Year Stars Light Up Week 14
Written by: Connor Zimmerlee
There’s no doubt that Jahmyr Gibbs is one of the best playmakers in the NFL. Doubling as an elite ball-carrier and stellar pass-catcher, the Lions superstar was his usual dominant self during a 44-30 win over the Cowboys. He recorded 120 yards from scrimmage and three rushing scores in the prime-time dub that improved Detroit’s postseason chances.
Elsewhere in Week 14, a pair of rookies were the stars of the show in a clash between the Browns and Titans. Making his third career start, Shedeur Sanders showed off his dynamic arm talent to the tune of 364 yards and a trio of touchdowns.
His favorite target was fellow first-year star Harold Fannin Jr. Continuing his strong debut campaign, the tight end shredded the Tennessee defense with eight catches for 114 yards and a touchdown.
Speaking of stellar rookies, Tyler Shough had a great game as well. Leading the Saints to a 24-20 upset over the Buccaneers, he rushed for two scores. Young running back Devin Neal recorded his first career touchdown in the same game.
Jordan Love was on fire in an NFC North bout against the Bears. Taking down Green Bay’s bitter rivals, the signal-caller threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns in a 28-21 win. This pushed the Packers’ record to a sparkling 9-3-1 and placed them atop the division.
