Panini Instant NFL Recap Week 2: Packers Pop, Rookies Roll
Written by: Connor Zimmerlee
Another slate of NFL action brought us another round of thrilling performances. And if you thought Week 1 was exciting, just wait until you see what Week 2 had to offer. Each of the players highlighted below, as well as a few others, earned Panini Instant NFL cards for their excellent work.
To start, let’s go back to the Thursday night showdown between Green Bay and Washington. In what was a must-see NFC matchup, the Packers came out on top with a 27-18 win, thanks in part to Jordan Love’s 292 yards and two touchdowns through the air. His favorite target was Tucker Kraft, who only needed six catches to rack up 124 yards and a score to push the Pack to a 2-0 to start.
Moving to Sunday, we certainly did not lack excitement across a loaded slate of games. A common theme was unstoppable quarterback-receiver duos. None were better than the tandem of Jared Goff and Amon-Ra St. Brown, who fueled a 52-21 rout of the Bears. Goff threw for 334 yards and five touchdowns, with 115 of those yards and three scores going to St. Brown.
Sticking with our offensive playmakers, a pair of rookies stood out in their respective games as well. Cam Skattebo led the Giants with 45 rushing yards and scored his first career touchdown against Dallas, while Tetairoa McMillan snagged six passes for a game-high 100 yards to torch the Cardinals’ secondary.
Speaking of outstanding performances from receivers, the trio of Malik Nabers, Ja’Marr Chase and Davante Adams were their typical superstar selves. Nabers snagged nine passes for a game-high 167 yards and two TDs against the Cowboys. Chase led the way with 14 grabs for 165 yards and a score in a 31-27 win over the Jaguars, while Adams secured six catches for 106 yards and his first TD as a Ram.
Rounding out our recap is a standout showing from Jonathan Taylor. Squaring off against the Broncos, he racked up 215 yards from scrimmage and a receiving touchdown to help piece together the Colts’ 29-28 win.
Just like each new week brings a new crop of brilliant performances, we’ll be here to recap them all for you. Not only that, but if you want to remember these remarkable outings and add their corresponding cards to your collection, then head over to the Panini storefront and check them all out in our Panini Instant NFL collection.
